The Ram Mossy Oak Edition gives hunting enthusiasts a way to proudly proclaim their love for the outdoors.“ "The Ram Truck brand has been a great partner to Mossy Oak," said Ronnie "Cuz" Strickland, EVP of Mossy Oak.
"The people there love trucks, but they’re also into hunting and fishing and understand that their customers are, too. To have Ram take that relationship to the next level by offering a special Mossy Oak Edition speaks volumes about their commitment to hunters and Outdoorsmen and women, and we are extremely proud to partner with them."
The 2014 Ram 1500 is part of the brand's mission to redefine the half-ton full-sized pickup truck segment by introducing a limited small displacement turbo-diesel engine that can deliver a class-leading mixture of torque and fuel economy.
Suitably branded as EcoDiesel, the all-new 3.0-litre powertrain is a turbocharged 60-degree, twin overhead camshaft (DOHC) 24-valve V-6 that creates 240 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque is much more effective than every V-6 petrol engine in the half-ton class.
Similar to the 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 and 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 petrol engines already available for the Ram 1500, the all-new EcoDiesel V-6 will be matched with the TorqueFlite 8, the one eight-speed automatic transmission available in the half-ton group.
The all-new EcoDiesel, conceived and made by VM Motor (supplying Chrysler since 1992), is among the most progressive diesel engines in the market. Fitted with a diesel oxidation catalyst, diesel particulate filter, and selective catalytic reduction, it will comply with emissions standards in all of the 50 states.
The all-new Ram 1500 also comes with a capless fuel system for convenient re-filling.
The 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 engine (winner of Ward's 10 Best Engines Award three consecutive years) with variable-valve timing (VVT) has 305 hp, 269 lb.-ft. of torque and class-leading fuel efficiency for V-6 engine pickups.
The Pentastar V-6 has 42 percent increased horsepower, 13 percent increased torque, and at least 20 percent improved fuel economy compared to the prior 3.7-litre V-6. The renowned 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 with fuel-economic cylinder shut-off and VVT produces 395 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque.
