Besides the long wheelbase Range Rover, Land Rover also revealed the 2014 Range Rover Autobiography Black. Set to make its debut at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show in early November, the new vehicle promises to bring even higher levels of refinement to the new Range Rover. According to the official press release, the new Range Rover Autobiography Black was designed and engineered by Jaguar Land Rover’s ‘Engineered To Order’ (ETO) division.
As a result, the luxury SUV comes with a number of exterior changes at the exterior, such as a unique design finish for the front grille and side vents, badging in black enamel and chrome, while the signature rear lamps and auxiliary vents to the front feature a chrome accent finish to the tailgate.
The new and exclusive Autobiography Black wheel designs are available for the wheels and these are 7-spole 21-inch and 22-inch wheels, featuring a high gloss polished finish. Insider, we find a unique seat cover design with the Executive Class seating package.
This package offers two individual fully adjustable seats and a re-designed full extended centre console to offer supreme comfort and functionality. 10.2 inch rear screens are available and fitted to the rear of the front seats, making a perfect team with the Meridian audio system.
The rear centre console was redesigned for the Range Rover Autobiography Black and comes with electrically deployable tables covered in black leather with integrated USB charging sockets and cup holders.
Moreover, the new Autobiography Black Range Rover will be available in three colour combinations at launch: Ebony/Lunar, Espresso/Tan and Dark Cherry/Ivory, the latter including a unique duo-tone seat. Later in spring 2014, Land Rover will offer Lunar/Cirrus and a unique Poltrona Frau seat design in Navy/Ivory. The Range Rover Autobiography Black deliveries will start in August 2014.
Customers who avail of the Autobiography Black will see that it brings with it a number of changes to the exterior which results in a unique and subtly different quality. Meanwhile both front grille and side vents have been appointed with a rather distinct design finish. There is also that identifiable badging in chrome and black enamel. The auxiliary vents placed on the front and the signature lamps in the rear combine to give the Range Rover that exclusivity especially the tailgate getting that chrome accent finish.
While the Range Rover already has excellent core wheel choices, the Autobiography Black adds two exclusive and new wheel designs. One of these is the 7-spoke 21-inch wheel with the other being the 22-inch version having a high gloss polished finish. The 22-inch wheel though, according to Land Rover, will only be available starting from the spring of 2014. On the interior, the Autobiography Black allows for first class travel especially as it integrates a distinct cover design for the seat that goes well with the Executive Class seating package.
Under this package, the rear seat gets to have the ultimate luxury. The rear has a pair of fully-adjustable and individual seats. Meanwhile the center console has been extended and redesigned allowing for exceptional functionality and superior comfort. The back of the front seats is fitted with 10.2-inch screens and when paired with the Meridian Audio, these ensure that passengers get to have a fully immersive experience.
Gerry McGovern, who is the Director and Chief Creative Officer at Land Rover, shares that the brand has been planning to move luxury to a different level and the Autobiography Black is but a step in the transformational journey of the brand. The vehicle has been designed, he adds, in response to the need of customers for more choices and a heightened exclusivity.
McGovern goes on to say that the brand used the finest crafted materials and utilized precision details of the highest levels not only for the interior but the exterior as well. The Autobiography Black is the height of the desirability present in a world of luxury that is inhabited by the brand’s customers, he continues.
