2014 Subaru Forester beats the Honda CR-V in Consumer Reports SUV review

Article by Christian A., on May 22, 2013

In the latest Consumer Reports reviews, the Subaru Forester compact sport utility vehicle topped the Honda CR-V and other rivals. The 2014 Subaru Forester, which now ranks as Consumer Reports’ top pick in the compact sport utility vehicle segment, won praise from the non-profit magazine for “space-efficient design, large windows, and big square doors.”

According to Consumer Reports’ Jake Fisher a.k.a. the director of the well-known magazine, the 2014 Forester is perfect if you are looking for a small SUV that is very functional and fuel-efficient. Furthermore, the 2014 Forester can accelerate faster than its rivals and still leads the competitors in fuel economy.

For those who don’t know, earlier this month Fuji Heavy said that it will invest $400 million to boost U.S. capacity by the end of 2016 due to the rising demand for vehicles such as the Forester SUV. Subaru sales increased 17 percent in April 2013, the biggest increase among carmakers based in Asia.

Subaru’s fourth-generation Forester was developed to maximize the model’s value as a true sport utility vehicle. The all-new Forester improves basic vehicle performance, including safety, environmental friendliness, and driving. At its core, it features the brand’s unique Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Moreover, the Forester's fun-to-drive characteristic, user-friendly utilities, and stress-free driving have been further enhanced.

Since it was launched in 1997, the Subaru Forester has earned worldwide acclaim for its riding comfort and drivability, along with its rugged rough-road utility and capability, as well as its superior maneuverability.

The foundation of Subaru’s automobile development is its brand statement: "Confidence in Motion." What’s more, the carmaker is committed to deliver "Enjoyment & Peace of Mind" and engineering excellence, and to create products that are in harmony with its customers’ values and lifestyles. Also, the new Forester embodies the brand direction of Subaru.

With the Forester, Subaru defines the true value of an SUV as having fun-to-drive character, providing user-friendly and versatile utilities, giving stress-free driving, and delivering ride comfort especially for long distances and under harsh road conditions. And in order to realize these, the Forester highly improves both ride quality and driving performance by adopting the brand’s latest technologies as well as through enhanced body rigidity.

In addition, safety performance and excellent fuel efficiency help the SUV guarantee and deliver "Peace of Mind." Furthermore, interior functionality and comfort have been refined to make it a "fun-to-use" SUV. And while maintaining a high-level vehicle performance, the Forester’s new AWD control system contributes to its "fun to drive" characteristics, as well as to the confident and comfortable driving experience it offers.
