It was officially announced today that the 2015 Audi A3 sedan will carry a price tag of $29,900. For this amount of money you get plenty of standard features such as panoramic glass sunroof, leather seating surfaces and bi-xenon headlights.

According to the official press release, the A3 sedan will be available with three different engines for the United States market and the offer includes the 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 TDI. The 1.8-liter TFSI engine delivers 180 hp and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft), which is good for a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds and for a top speed of 235 km/h or 146 mph. Combined fuel consumption is 42 mpg.

The 2.0-liter TDI clean diesel is rated at 150 hp and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque, enough to zoom from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 220 km/h or 136 mph. Combined fuel consumption is 57 mpg. All engines are using the standard 6-speed S tronic transmission. The base model also comes as standard with Audi signature LED DRLs and taillights, Bluetooth technology, Audi pre sense basic and a panoramic glass sunroof.

For the first time in this segment the A3 sedan can be equipped with MMI technology, Audi drive select, 4G LTE connectivity and Bang & Olufsen audio.

Not only does the Audi A3 Sedan have that sporty stance when on the road but each detail is highly expressive while being precise. Looking at the design itself, the A3 Sedan shows that it has the classic three-box concept that is mixed in with a coupé philosophy. Revealing overall width at 5.91 feet (1.80 meters), this means that compared to the A3 Sportback, the A3 Sedan is wider by 0.43 inch (11 mm).

Height meanwhile measures 4.66 feet (1.42 meters), making the Sedan version lower versus the Sportback by 0.35 inch (9 mm). Length meanwhile is at 14.63 feet (4.46 meters) with the wheelbase measuring 8.66 feet (2.64 meters). One characteristic design element of this four-door model is known as the “tornado line” which results in that unique light-refracting edge that goes across the whole side.

Meanwhile on top of the side sills are dynamic lines, that when compared to the two other A3 models, rises more sharply. Further, the side surfaces have been curved more intensively with the wheel arches being made more flared. There are also independent lines placed not just on the curve of the hood but also on the air intakes and the bumpers. This line is even applied to the single frame grille.

On the rear section, the spoiler has been integrated to the trunk lid with the lights, given the low and wide cuts, helping put focus on the horizontal lines. Audi revealed that while it will be offering as an option LED technology, a full-LED headlights package will be offered during the official market launch. This cutting-edge technology, combined with a unique appearance, emphasizes just how exceptional the position is of the A3 Sedan.
