2015 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe (F36) with M Sport Package

Article by Christian A., on February 2, 2014

As you may know already, BMW introduced the all-new 4-Series Gran Coupe but we didn’t tell you anything about the M Sport Package fitted on the new car. Until now! The 2015 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe (F36) fitted with the M Sport Package comes with new aerodynamic features such as a new front bumper with larger air intakes, new rocker panels matching the color of the vehicle as well as a rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system.

The exterior design is completed by the 18-inch or 19-inch M light-alloy wheels. For those interested, the 4-Series Gran Coupe with M Sport Package is available in six exterior colors, including Carbon Black Metallic and Estoril Blue Metallic.

Inside, we find features such as the M door sill finishers, M leather steering wheel, an M driver’s footrest shape and sport front seats upholstered with a Hexagonal/Alcantara combination with M piping and Royal Blue contrast stitching. Full leather upholstery is also available and can be ordered for even more interior refinement.

Other features of the M Sport Package include the M Sport suspension and the optional M Sport brakes in contrasting blue paint finish. The M Sport Package is available with every engine in the 4-Series Gran Coupe lineup, but we consider that the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine found on the 435i Gran Coupe is the best choice.

This engine puts out 306 hp (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque and is able to push the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.5 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph or 250 km/h. Still, in summer 2014, the 4-Series Gran Coupe will be available with the diesel variant of the six-cylinder engine, that generates 313 hp (230 kW) and a maximum torque of 630 Nm (465 lb-ft).

This lengthened roofline accentuates the gracefulness and elegance of the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupé, and it sets new benchmarks for artistry in the midsized range that also presents key functional benefits. Among them are the bigger headroom in the cabin, and greater comfort. The volume found in the trunk is 480 litres, 35 litres more than what’s available in the two-doored version for greater convenience when facing the challenges of daily drive situations with the 4-Series Gran Coupé.

Vibrant and sophisticated motifs with practical components

When measured up against a two-doored coupé, the 4-Series Gran Coupé presents occupants more convenient access when getting into or out of the automobile due to the four-door set-up. The doors do not have frames and have the distinct design touches of a BMW midsized coupé that accent the grace of the concept vehicle. The practical sophistication of the 4+1-seater is emphasised by dominant rounded instruments with a black panel appearance and a free-standing flatscreen iDrive display.

The wide boot access opening and roomy storage space makes for much easier loading and unloading. The rear seat’s 40:20:40 split folding backrest guarantees additional versatility.

The maximal volume of the trunk is 1,300 litres and is clearly class-leading if you look at all the high-quality four-doored coupés available now. The trunk lid has, as a standard feature, has automated open and close mechanisms for optimal ease. And the Smart Opener component can be activated to open and close by moving a foot under the back fender.
