2015 Bmw X6 gets rendered

Article by Christian A., on June 4, 2013

Although no prototypes were spotted yet, the 2015 Bmw X6 was rendered by an artist based on the new design shown by the 2014 Bmw X5 (F15). Set to make its debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, the new Bmw X6 will be wider and longer, comparing it with the current version.

Taking a look at the rendering we must admit that we’d love a next-gen X6 like this one, but we will still have to wait and see what Bmw prepared for us.

The engines are expected to be identical with the ones presented on the X5 (F15), which means that we will see a 4.4-liter V8 on the X6 xDrive50i delivering 450 hp and 650 Nm of torque, a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line diesel with 258 hp and 560 Nm of torque on the X6 xDrive30d and a tri-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder with 381 hp and 740 Nm of torque on the X6 M40d.

We still don’t know if Bmw will offer a RWD version of the X6. For those who don’t know, Bmw will launch later this year a RWD version of the X5, which will be cheaper and powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 215 hp. A more powerful version will be the X5 sDrive35i.

BMW X models have long been known for their robust presence but for the new X6, the design of the body combines it with the signature sporting elegance of BMW’s Coupes. The result is a model that has an athletic but distinct look. Many of the design features that are trademark BMW can be seen in the new X6. There is for example the passenger compartment that has been made more set-back.

Then there is the short overhang in the front, the long wheelbase, and even the long bonnet. Meanwhile, the short distance between the instrument panel and the front axle, the large wheel arches, and the high window sill, all result in making this new model more stable. Further, it also puts emphasis on the fact that this Sports Activity Coupe is indeed related to the X model family.

While the ambience truly displays luxury, this is highlighted even more by the individual accents. To do this, BMW combined materials and colors to put focus on the either the robust, sporting, or elegant side of the new X6. On the inside, the X6 reveals a high seating position and when mixed in with the sculpted surfaces and the use of high-quality materials, it reveals a cabin with a more luxurious atmosphere.

Helping with this more exclusive sporty feel is a cockpit designed to be more driver oriented. Enhancing this further are the cutting-edge display and control elements and even the lines that flow from the instrument panel and to the door panels, forming a ring on the interior.
