2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition shows its all-black exterior

Article by Christian A., on January 22, 2015

Chevrolet’s all-new 2015 Silverado Midnight Edition made its debut today at the National Automobile Dealers Association Convention & Expo in San Francisco, but the manufacturer said that it will also bring it next month at the Chicago Auto Show. Based on a black Silverado Z71, the Midnight Special Edition adds an all-black front end with body-colored grille, front bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps.

Moreover, it features black side moldings and beltline moldings, special Z71 badges on the doors, a black spray-in bedliner and 18-inch black painted alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires.

Just like any other 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 models, the Midnight Special Edition comes fitted with an off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control and trailering package.

Furthermore, the pickup arrives with rear park assist and heated, power-adjusted outside rear-view mirrors. If you like the 2015 Chevrolet Midnight Special Edition you better know that the package is priced between $1,595 and $1,995, depending on the model.

The new all-new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup has been revealed, and is touted to be the strongest and the most capable Silverado ever. Building on 95 years of truck heritage at Chevrolet, the new Silverado is engineered to set new standards for full-size pickups.

For the 2015 model year, the new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is up for a number of surprises. Aside from the availability of three powerful yet efficient EcoTec3 engines, the new Silverado 1500 comes with a quieter, stronger and more comfortable cab. Furthermore, its steering, suspension and brakes have been revised. In addition, the new Silverado features a number of cargo management solutions as well as authentic truck capability for towing and hauling.

Mark Reuss, president of GM North America, remarked that Silverado customers depend on their tracks to meet their daily challenges from earning a living and operating a business to taking care of their families. Reuss quipped that Chevrolet has a commitment to provide truck customers the most-refined and best-engineered pickups.

The new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 completes the brand’s three-truck portfolio, allowing customers to pick the right truck for their needs. Silverado 1500 will be joining the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD pickups. Furthermore, the brand is in the midst of developing an all-new Colorado midsize pickup that combines proven truck capability and fuel efficiency in a more compact package.

The exterior Silverado design mixes Chevy’s strong truck heritage with an elegant, contemporary aesthetic. The all-new design is more powerful, more practical, and more streamlined. A dual-port grille, full bumper, and twin power-dome hood produce a strong character, carried throughout sculptured sides and fender flares.

All-new Silverado design goes beyond its looks, nevertheless. The new front’s engineering should create improved sealing for more effective cooling, and the roof and tailgate spoiler shapes were developed in a wind tunnel to level the flow of air over the vehicle to lessen drag. New inlaid doors that fit into niches along the side, lower wind noise for a quieter interior.

2014 Silverado 1500 offers three new EcoTec3 engines, one V-6 and two V-8s, with engineering specifically developed for full-sized trucks. Each of the three engines incorporates direct fuel injection, cylinder deactivation, and continuously adjustable valve timing, an advanced combination not available in competitors' pickups. Each switch effortlessly operates to improve effectiveness while carrying light loads, and each has been built for more strength, more spin, and better effectiveness than before.

The family of engines includes a brand-new 4.3L V-6 with enough torque to run a crew-cab pickup and tow a substantial load, and an all-new 5.3L V-8 designed to create more strength, more spin, and better effectiveness than the current generation that currently is the V-8 fuel efficiency leader. An all-new 6.2L V-8 has the engineering of the most able engine in any light-duty truck.

New Silverado’s SAE certified horsepower and torque ratings and EPA fuel economy data will be available early next year.
