If last year it was just a rumor, the all-new compact crossover from Lexus became a reality! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the brand new 2015 Lexus NX! Clearly inspired by the LF-NX Concept that was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), the Lexus NX will be offered in the United States in two versions, the NX 200t turbo and NX 300h hybrid.
Just like any other Lexus model, the NX will receive the F Sport. As a result, the NX 200t F SPORT will be available with unique exterior and interior features. Set to make its world debut next week at the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition also known as Auto China 2014, the Lexus NX promises be more agile than an SUV.
As you can see from the photos, the NX crossover features an eye-catching exterior and the front end looks very aggressive, showing innovative LED headlamps and daytime running lights as well as the signature spindle grille. Front and rear wheel arches add a muscular stance with bold flares and house standard 17-inch or the optional 18-inch wheels.
From the side, we can see than the profile of the crossover is accentuated by a roofline peak that sets towards the back, in order to create tight silhouette and to provide ample headroom for rear seat occupants. Moreover, subtle luxury details are included in the innovative Lexus-first door handle with a hidden key barrel and integrated lighting.
The rear end shows the Lexus’ signature ‘L’ shape combination lamps, each with seamless LED lighting. Inside, we find a combination of hard metallic surfaces and contrasting soft materials. The instrument panel is surrounded by silver frame, while the knee pads located at the base of the center stack help support the driver and passenger.
The Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology continues the impression of an advanced vehicle and is also located at the bottom of the center stack. Regarding the seating, the NX possesses a low hip point adding to the connection of the driver to the vehicle and increasing overall headroom. Under the hood, the NX 200t is powered by an all-new 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, which delivers the power to the front wheels, while all-wheel drive is available as an option.
Lexus also offers a highly efficient hybrid in NX 300h. Other highlights of the Lexus NX are the Lexus-first Wireless Charging Tray, Remote Touch Interface with a touch pad and a comprehensive Multi-information Display, including a Lexus-first G sensor and boost meter, Heads-Up Display, All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
