If you were looking for a full-size sport utility vehicle, you better take a look also at the 2015 Lincoln Navigator as the company announced that it will carry a price tag of $62,475, including destination and delivery charges. For those who don’t know it yet, the 2015 Lincoln Navigator comes as standard with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost that delivers 380 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The engine is bolted to a new six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The 2015 Navigator is available with the Lincoln Drive Control with a continuously controlled damping suspension to help provide a smoother ride, and electric power-assisted steering that helps deliver responsive handling.
As standard, 4WD models and a all models equipped with 22-inch wheels are offered with continuously controlled damping. Meanwhile, the 2015 Navigator 4x4 models come as standard with hill start assist and Hill Descent Control.
The interior also arrives with plenty of standard equipment such as luxurious leather, push-button start, SYNC with MyLincoln Touch connectivity system, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert, and an LED-backlit instrument cluster with tachometer, trip odometer, compass, outside thermometer and message center.
As an option, the 2015 Lincoln Navigator is available with the new Reserve Package, which adds Lincoln Drive Control with continuously controlled damping, 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, premium Ziricote wood trim and ultra-luxurious leather-trimmed seats in all three rows, as well as a hand-wrapped leather and stitched instrument panel, armrests and console.
The 2015 Navigator 4x2 models equipped with the Reserve Package is priced at $69,975, while the 4x4 Reserve Package models start at $72,900. The 2015 Lincoln Navigator L sits on a longer wheelbase and has a length of 131 inches, as well as a total length of 222.3 inches.
2015 Lincoln Navigator L starts at $64,640 for the 4x2 version and $68,215 for the 4x4 version. Both prices include destination and delivery charges.
Lincoln is finally revealing to the global public the new 2015 Lincoln Navigator at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. For the 2015 model year, the Navigator boasts of a number of exterior tweaks -- like the re-introduction of Lincoln's iconic split-wing grille – interior refinements including luxurious leather as well as more customer-focused technologies. The exterior of the new Navigator features a newly designed hood on the front and a power up/down tailgate on the rear. Jewel-like lighting units on both the front and rear end employ light emitting diode (LED) units. The headlamps are high-intensity discharge (HID) adaptive units with LED accents.
Elaine Bannon, chief engineer of the new Navigator, remarked that by knowing what customers wanted, Lincoln was able to keep the great features for the 2015 iteration of the full-size luxury SUV.
As standard, the 2015 Lincoln Navigator rides on 20-inch, machined aluminum wheels, with the Reserve Package offering 22-inch, polished aluminum wheels as well as optional chrome-accented running boards.
The 2015 Lincoln Navigator could be availed either as a standard-length unit measuring 207.4 inches or as an extended-length version (222.3 inches).
