2015 McLaren 650S pricing announced for US and Canada

Article by Christian A., on April 7, 2014

The McLaren 650S Coupé and 650S Spider can now be availed across 15 retail locations in the United States (13) and Canada (2). The newest retails stores -- McLaren Atlanta, McLaren Scottsdale, McLaren Washington DC and McLaren Vancouver -- opened in the past six months demonstrate the growth of the brand in North America.

The 2015 McLaren 650S Coupé and 650S Spider have starting prices of US$265,500 and US$280,225, respectively, in the US. The 650S Coupé and 650S Spider have starting price of CA$287,000 and CAD305,500, respectively, in Canada. The 650S could accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, and reach 100 mph in just 5.7 seconds.

The 650s could travel a quarter mile in just 10.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 207 mph, in Coupé form. This means that the latest McLaren 650S is 0.6 sec faster than the iconic McLaren F1 road car during a standing quarter mile, and is a full second quicker to 124 mph. McLaren optimized the McLaren 650S’s aerodynamics to ensure heightened driver engagement.

Improved levels of downforce also gave rise to improved handling, high-speed balance and steering turn-in. Mike Flewitt, chief executive of McLaren Automotive remarked that “driving excitement is at the absolute heart of the McLaren 650S,” noting that performance figures are only part of the story since the car is also about feel and measurement.

The McLaren 650S featues standard equipment like carbon ceramic brakes, ‘650’ lightweight alloy wheels and shod, Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. The interior features a fully trimmed cabin in lightweight Alcantara and IRIS satellite navigation with Bluetooth connectivity.

It also features SIRIUS satellite radio (North America), wireless tethering, audio streaming and voice control. Coming as options are fixed-back carbon racing seats, an electric steering column adjustment, a rear parking camera and an extended carbon fiber throughout the interior.
