We just saw the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 at the 2014 Paris Motor Show but until we will find out how much the new models will cost in the United States, the manufacturer announced the European pricing. As a result, the 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 Sedan will start at 76,100 euros in Germany, including 19% VAT.
Meanwhile, the 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate costs 77,766 euros, including 19% VAT. Both models are powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine that generates 476 hp (350 kW) and 650 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm. The sedan is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, while the estate is 0.1 seconds, but both models offer a top speed of 155 mph or 250 km/h.
Using a 7-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission, the sedan has a fuel consumption of 8.2 l/100 km (192 g/km of CO2), while the estate needs 8.4 l/100 km (196 g/km of CO2).
2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Sedan costs 84,371 euros, while the 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Estate is priced from 86,037 euros, including 19% VAT. These models get the same 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine that produces 510 hp (375 kW) and 700 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm.
The sedan sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds, while the estate needs 4.1 seconds. Still, both vehicles have a top speed limited at 155 mph or 250 km/h.
Moreover, the vehicles has a fuel consumption of 8.4-8.2 l/100 km (195-192 g/km of CO2), while the estate needs 8.6-8.4 l/100 km (200-196 g/km of CO2).
Mercedes-AMG will offer the C63 AMG as standard with a 3-stage AMG Ride Control sports suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, a mechanical rear axle locking differential and the AMG Dynamic Select transmission models.
The C63 S models arrive as standard with high-performance composite braking system, an electronic rear axle locking differential and dynamic engine mounts.
Design of the new Mercedes-AMG C63 takes inspiration from motorsport while reflecting its captivating technology, adhering to a mantra where form follows performance. Exuding allure and charm even at a glance, the new C63 marries sensual clarity and stylish sportiness. As revealed by their aesthetics, both the Saloon and Estate are recognizable as part of the Mercedes-AMG family, although the exteriors of the C63 and C63 S are distinguished from the rest through certain design details.
Essentially, the new AMG C63 is a result of adding positive tension into the sensual surfaces and minimalist forms of the new C-Class. Its unique front end – now longer by 54 mm -- conveys its wider track and the eight-cylinder unit underneath its hood. Its aluminum front wings are now wider on each side by 14 mm and features "V8 BITURBO" lettering. Furthermore, the structure of its body-in-white has been toughened in certain areas to offset the extreme longitudinal and transverse forces generated by the drivetrain and operating gear.
The sportiness of the new AMG 63 is accentuated clearly especially at the front end through two distinctive power domes on its long aluminum bonnet that, along with the wider wings, ensures a muscular appearance. Featuring a characteristic arrow form, the low-positioned "twin blade" radiator grille -- with AMG lettering – help lowers visual center of gravity of the AMG C63.
The three-dimensional so-called "A-wing" channels airflow to the three cooling air intakes, while the flics ensure optimum airflow to the cooling module. A front splitter on the lower edge of the front skirt helps lower aerodynamic lift.
