Subaru announced that the 2015 BRZ will start at $25,695 in the United States, without the $795 destination and delivery charges. This means that the 2015MY BRZ will be $100 more expensive than the 2014MY. The 2015 Subaru BRZ is offered as standard with the 2.0-liter Boxer engine that delivers 200 hp, bolted to a six-speed manual transmission.
For the 2015MY, all BRZ trims are now available with larger stainless tailpipes tips, a simulated carbon-fiber center dash panel, as well as a new body color shark fin antenna, just like the 2015 Toyota GT86 and the 2015 Scion FR-S.
If the 2015 Subaru BRZ Premium model starts at $25,695, the 2015 Subaru BRZ Limited equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission will cost $27,695, without the $795 destination and delivery charges.
The BRZ Limited model fitted with a 6-speed automatic transmission is priced at $28,795 and as expected the $795 destination and delivery charges are not included.
New for 2015MY is the BRZ Series.Blue Special Edition. Subaru will only offer 1,000 cars for the United States, each having an exclusive combination of the STI-branded aerodynamical body design, black 17-inch STI wheels as well as unique interior trims.
Subaru announced that it will offer 500 cars painted in WR Blue Pearl and 500 wearing the Chrystal White Pearl. All vehicles will come as standard with a six-speed manual transmission and will cost $29,490 (without the $795 destination and delivery charges).
The interior of the BRZ Series.Blue Special Edition is offered with blue stitching accents on the seats and a blue and black leather-wrapped steering wheel. Moreover, the carpeted floor mats feature the BRZ logo and blue stitching.
Subaru wanted a sports car whose design would intuitively reveal the fun-to-drive quality of the model. Further, the brand also wanted it detailed in a manner that would make the BRZ easily recognizable as a Subaru.
Because of a package that shows an ultra-low center of gravity, this allowed the design to have a low hood. The low hood, when combined with the bulging fenders in the front, can increase the expectations of customers as it relates to the drivability. Meanwhile the hexagonal lower grille, headlights, and Subaru six-star ornament, are all in line with the design motif of the brand, a characteristic common to all new models from Subaru.
With these features in the BRZ, they can convey the brand’s identity. In addition, the low center of gravity mixed in with the shapely fender flares help highlight the luxurious beauty of the BRZ. Not only does it have aesthetic beauty but even has a functional one. Aerodynamics for example is advanced by the different areas like the trunk lid layout, rear glass inclination, and C-pillar shape.
However as what one might expect from a sports car, the overhangs on the front and the rear have been shortened. This also expresses the liveliness of the BRZ. Further, highlighting the fender in the front is the unique garnish. The projecting wheel arches in the rear allow the rear view’s beauty of this model to be highlighted. It also contrasts with the fact that the new BRZ has a compact cabin.
