The exterior design of the Subaru WRX conveys an aggressive yet dynamically refined appearance appropriate for the brand flagship performance model.
This is highlighted by a front end with a nose cone design and Subaru’s signature hexagonal grille. This grille is flanked by boldly shaped new hawkeye headlights, which accentuate the WRX’s aggressive wide and low styling.
When viewed on the side, it is apparent that the lower end of the A-pillar has been extended 200 mm to the front while the C-pillar has been designed for a seamless transition to the trunk surface. The sporty flanks of the new WRX are made more prominent by front fender ducts and special sharp side sill spoilers. The looks of flanks are completed by new more rigid and lighter 17-inch alloy wheels (17x8J) in dark gun metal finish.
On the rear, the new Subaru WRX is provided with a diffuser-integrated bumper and twin dual exhaust pipes – both underscoring the performance model’s driving performance and low center of gravity. To further highlight the width of the new WRX, the performance flagship is equipped with thin rear combination lamps. The rear end also features a small rear spoiler. The new Subaru WRX is also provided with a shark fin antenna.
Subaru employed light emitting diodes for the low beams and clearance lamps of the headlights as well as for the rear and brake lights. The high-mounted brake light also employs LED units.
Two new colors have been added to the exterior palette: WR Blue Pearl and Crystal White Pearl.
