Wide-ranging discussions with customers have led to innovative digital artistry with interactive design. The display’s layout looks like a flexible stack of tiles, each displaying a main function.
Data, media, and navigation have higher placement making each of them easy to see. Communication controls, icons for applications, and temperature controls have a lower placement, so they are easier to reach to activate.
As soon as a tile is touched on the display, it expands for interaction, and the others are still visible but compressed so that they are still immediately accessible.
This means that the touch display is extraordinarily easy to use, without any need to return to the main menu to switch to another function.
Four-zoned climate system
The new Volvo XC90 can come with a climate system that has four zones with specific settings for front row occupants as well as those in the second row. A separate third-row air-conditioning system comes standard or as an available optional depending on the market.
Volvo’s CleanZone air purification system, which is among the most efficient available on the market, has further improvements with a newly added carbon filter for more effective filtering of the intake of air for small, damaging particles and pollen.
