Volkswagen of America announced the US pricing for the 2015 Golf GTI models. As a result, the 2015 Golf GTI S entry-level has a starting price of $24,395 (plus $820 destination and handling) in a two-door form and using a six-speed manual transmission. That’s a $195 over the outgoing version.
Still, when compared with the previous version, the 2015 Golf GTI adds as standard the latest EA888 turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI engine that develops 210 hp (up 10 hp) and 258 pound-feet of torque (an increase of 51 lb-ft), as well as the VW Car-Net connected services, touchscreen radio, multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leather, driving mode selection feature, ambient and footwell lighting with LED reading lights, but also LED foglights.

This package adds larger brakes, a torque-sensing electronically-controlled limited-slip differential, and a 10 horsepower boost over the regular GTI.

According to the press release, the 2015 Golf GTI S comes as standard with TSI engine, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, a touchscreen radio, Sirius XM Satellite radio, a Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod integration, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, handbrake, and shifter knob, VW Car-Net connected services, ambient and footwell lighting with LED reading lights; cloth sport seats with heritage GTI design, LED foglights, heatable front seats, and a new driving mode selection feature.
The Lightning Package costs $995 and adds Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and the Adaptive Front-lighting System. For $695 you can get the Driver Assistance Package, which includes a front collision warning system and front and rear Park Distance Control.
Regarding the 2015 Golf GTI SE, this model comes as standard with a power tilt and slide sunroof, Keyless access with push-button start, a rearview camera, automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, the Fender Premium Audio System and leather seating surfaces.
The 2015 Golf GTI Autobahn adds navigation, a 12-way power driver’s seat, and automatic air conditioning to the list of standard equipment on the SE. the 2015 Golf GTI will go on sale in June and will be built at the company’s Puebla, Mexico plant.
