2015 VW Polo BlueMotion now available to order in the UK starting from £14,730

Interested buyers in the United Kingdom could now place orders for the petrol version of the Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion at a starting price of £14,730 on-the-road (RRP). It is powered by a 1.0-liter BlueMotion TSI petrol unit that emits just 94 g of carbon dioxide per kilometer and returns 68.9 mpg on the combined cycle.

The new three-cylinder engine, paired to a five-speed manual transmission, delivers an output of 95 PS between 5,000 and 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 118 Nm (160 lbs ft) between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm. This power allows the Polo BlueMotion to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 10.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 119 mph.

Aside from the 1.0-liter BlueMotion TSI petrol 95 PS engine, the Polo BlueMotion’s powerplant choices also include three-cylinder diesel 1.4-litereTDI BlueMotion engine (75 PS, 91.1 mpg, 82 g/km CO2O. The Polo BlueMotion builds on the S trim, adding more features like a styling pack that includes distinctly shaped front and rear bumpers, radiator grille, side skirts and rear roof spoiler.

It also includes body-colored door handles, body-colored door mirrors with integrated indicators, front fog lights and static cornering function as well as distinct BlueMotion badging. Other features include 15-inch ‘Buenos Aires’ alloys with low rolling resistance tires, aero body kit, multifunction leather steering wheel, alarm with remote central locking, air conditioning, a front center armrest.

Further complementing them are Composition Media and infotainment system, cruise control and Volkswagen’s Driver Alert System. This version also boasts of a color touchscreen, SD card reader, DAB radio and USB and AUX-in connections, as well as a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Deliveries of the Polo BlueMotion start in March in the UK.
