Audi decided to expand its lineup of high-performance models and introduced today the new S8 Plus. As its name says it, the new Audi S8 Plus is a more powerful version of the already potent S8 sedan and comes with the same 4.0-liter TFSI V8 biturbo engine that produces an impressive 605 hp (445 kW) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, while in overboost mode it produces 750 Nm (553 lb-ft).
Thanks to the 85 hp (63 kW) power increase over the standard S8, the S8 Plus is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h (155 mph). As an option, Audi can increase the top speed at 305 km/h or 189.5 mph.
Just like the standard S8, the S8 Plus features the 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, which delivers to power to the road via the Quattro drivetrain with a sport differential and through the standard 21-inch wheels specially designed for this model. Behind the wheels we find carbon-fiber reinforced ceramic brakes with anthracite-gray brake calipers and the Audi ceramic logo.
In addition, the S8 Plus features a new sport exhaust system modified by Quattro GmbH, which gives the car an unmistakably sporty V8 sound.
Inside, we find contrasting stitching in Arras red, headlining and rear parcel shelf designed in black Alcantara, contrasting red thread woven into the upper lay, while the lower inlay is designed in brushed aluminum. Moreover, the black piano paint is found on the gear selector lever of the tiptronic and the center console.
The S8 Plus will be available with the normal wheelbase and a bunch of extensive rear features such as ambient lighting, a convenience key with sensor-driven luggage compartment locking, full-leather interior package, Alcantara package, power-assisted door closing and a DVD/CD changer. In Germany, pricing starts at 145,200 euros.
