With the new BMW 7 Series, the German premium carmaker is intending to offer more than the ordinary in terms of luxury, comfort and technology. After all, building the best vehicle has been BMW’s main motivation for success. On the other hand, BMW Individual Manufactory has been celebrated for over two decades for its ability to customize the best vehicles according to the personal taste and preferences of owners. Thus, the BMW Individual Manufactory further developed the capabilities of the new BMW 7 Series, the BMW 750Li in particular.

With the BMW 750Li as base, BMW Individual Manufactory is demonstrating its extraordinary capabilities by developing two highly exclusive edition models: the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition.” These editions are really very exclusive, as BMW Individual Manufactory is only building six examples of the Solitaire Edition and only one unit of the Master Class Edition.

Frank van Meel, chief executive of BMW M GmbH, remarked that the BMW Individual Manufactory is driven by its aspiration to deliver optimal customer orientation and ensure that the wishes of its customers come true.

BMW M, a subsidiary of BMW AG, is responsible for the sporty vehicle by the BMW brand, and also for the highly exclusive models from the BMW Individual division. As for the new highly elite 7 series editions, the BMW Individual Manufactory is offering two exclusive special colors that highlight the emotional design language of the new BMW 7 Series -- BMW Individual Metallic Black Gold and BMW Individual Metallic Solitaire White.

Both colors are applied by employing an extremely complex process that entails embedding fine glass flakes into one of the final layers of paint for a more pronounced deep gloss. Moreover, all new seven 7 series models come with a chrome plaque mounted on the C pillar, bearing the “Solitaire” lettering.

They also come with a decorative rear trim sporting the name of the edition, subtly indicating their exclusivity.

These special models of the BMW 7 Series are a result of the craftsmanship and meticulous work by the BMW Individual Manufactory, which also develops market-specific editions and special models. In fact, the BMW Individual Manufactory had cooperative partnerships with Girard Perregaux, with Steinway & Sons and with ROBBE & BERKING.

Completing the BMW Individual product range is the BMW Individual Collection, which comprises equipment options designed and developed for each BMW series -- exclusive body colors, special interior trims and high-grade leather materials.

Interestingly, the BMW Individual Manufactory also caters to even the most unusual requests from customers, as long as these demands do not run counter to legal requirements, safety regulations, and the brand character. Likewise, through the BMW Individual Manufactory, a customer could become the designer of his/her own vehicle, relying on a team of specialists providing support and advice with configuration and setup of the unit.

Not only that, the BMW Individual Manufactory offers a wide range of customization possibilities, especially with over 100 exterior colors to choose from. In case customers couldn’t seem to pick a color from the available palette, they could propose a color of their own.

They could even specify the exterior finish -- uni, metallic or pearlescent finish, uni- or bicolored, high gloss or matt. The exterior is not the only part of the vehicle that the BMW Individual Manufactory could successfully tinker, but it also works on the interior.

After all, this is the area in the vehicle where humans have the most contact with the machine. In fact, the BMW Individual Manufactory could adapt any equipment to suit the customer’s taste and preferences. Customers may also commission the BMW Individual Manufactory to equip their BMWs with initials or logos on different interior parts like trims and doorsills, headrests or sun blinds.

Likewise, customers could have the BMW Individual Manufactory use their own materials. Making all these possible are BMW Individual Manufactory specialists who boast of the expertise, experience and knowledge in realizing almost any equipment option. They’re easily able to go beyond the boundaries of a normal BMW, allowing customers to experience a whole new level of exclusiveness and personalization.

Interior Design

The exclusivity, as well as luxury, comfort and elegance of these special models, are well played inside the cabin. After all, both the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” of the BMW 750Li are laden with a wide array of exclusive features like the BMW Individual fine-grain full leather trim Merino and the Alcantara roof liner, both in the Tartufo color.

Covering the floors of these models are very soft floor mats made from sheared lambskin also in Tartufo color. Both the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” feature leather compartments for storing cosmetic tissues in both rear doors as well as soft Alcantara covered cushions -- in Tartufo color – with embroidered lettering “Solitaire” or “Master Class.”

Additionally, the BMW 750Li special editions are provided with a bar compartment featuring tulip sparkling wine glasses and an integrated cooling box in the rear compartment center console. A silver-plated plaque on the center console indicates the exclusivity of these very special edition models.

Serving as the interior centerpiece of “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” are the five optional diamond inserts in the interior trims on the dashboard and doors. Even the luggage compartment of these special edition models exudes exclusivity and luxury.

For instance, the boot is lined with Alcantara in Tartufo color to further emphasize the special edition’s luxurious design. Moreover, customers could avail of highly exclusive optional features for their “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition.” One of these features is an exclusive box for key storage, sporting a BMW Individual Black Piano finish and a pearlescent insert on the lid. This box could be optionally availed with diamond inserts and an inlay with Alcantara leather lining.

Further underscoring the exclusive high-class nature of the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” is the use of BMW Individual fine-grain Merino, considered to be leather of the highest quality available for a BMW.

This leather is naturally supple and finely structured for a distinctly pleasant appearance and feel – underscoring one of the main attributes of BMW Individual, which is the employment of the best materials and top quality workmanship to meet the highest demands of luxury. Moreover, BMW Individual Manufactory only used flawless and intact hides for further refinement.

In fact, BMW Individual Manufactory employed two processing methods: a special re-tanning process and vacuum drying, both of which are typically used when creating high-grade leather accessories. These processing methods provide the BMW Individual fine-grain Merino leather with unmatched elegance and distinct sheen.

To note, the original material underwent careful processing to preserve its natural quality -- durable and breathable as well as evenly structured and soft. Likewise available are optional exclusive features for the leather trim. Also covered with BMW Individual fine-grain Merino leather are the back panel cladding for the seats, the door panels, the B pillars and the upper and lower instrument panels.

Powering the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” models of the BMW 750Li xDrive is a V8 petrol engine – featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology – that provides up to 330 kW (450 hp) of output and 650 Nm of maximum torque while consuming just 8 liters of petrol per 100 km (combined) and emitting only 187 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer (combined).

With this power, both the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” is able to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and achieve an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Making these special editions more dynamic is the BMW xDrive intelligent four-wheel drive system that constantly detects and assesses the current driving situation and then implements the required support in a nick of time.

BMW xDrive is able to respond within split seconds to changing road surface condition, thereby varying the distribution of power in a quick and precise manner. This system allows the “Solitaire Edition” and the “Master Class Edition” to exhibit both dynamic performance and handling typical of BMW vehicles, enabling drivers to experience genuine driving pleasure.
