Chevrolet is introducing an array of accessories and performance parts specially made for the sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro, which will begin sales this fall. These allow owners of the MY2016 Chevy Camaro to personalize their vehicles to suit their taste and needs.
These personalization elements do not only amplify the Camaro’s interior and exterior appeal but also improve its performance. To enrich the Camaro’s already appealing looks, customers could avail of the four exterior graphics packages that are offered in multiple colors.
These graphics include “rally stripe,” front-fender “hash mark,” racing stripe designs and a body-side “spear” graphic. Likewise, customers could get any of the three aluminum wheel designs, which are available in multiple finishes. Also available are grille kits with six body-color inserts for Camaro LT and SS models.
Additionally, the inserts are also available in chrome-appearance or primed versions for custom painting. Moreover, Camaro owners could have a blade-style rear spoiler and ground effects kit, each available in 10 colors.
They could also opt to have other finishing types like smoked taillamp lenses and blacked-out or LED-illuminated bowtie emblems.
Customers could also choose to enrich the interior of their sixth-gen Camaro with new trim kits that are offered in multiple colors. They could personally get a glimpse of these accessories through the online Camaro Visualizer.
Should customers feel the need to make their new Camaro perform a notch better, they could avail of specially made performance parts like Brembo performance front brake packages (four-piston and six-piston calipers), performance exhaust, suspension lowering kits, performance air intake and engine covers.
There are two available Brembo performance front brake package – one with four-piston calipers and the other with six-piston calipers. The four-piston calipers are developed for Camaro LT models powered by the 2.0L Turbo and 3.6L V-6 engines.
This package includes aluminum calipers in red with performance brake pads as well as 13.6-in. x 1.2-in. (345mm x 30mm) vented and slotted Duralife rotors. This package -- replacing the original front brakes – also includes low-expansion front brake hoses and all the necessary hardware.
On the other hand, the second Brembo package includes six-piston monoblock aluminum calipers in red with performance brake pads as well as two-piece, 14.6-in. x 1.3-in. (370mm x 34mm) vented and slotted Duralife rotors. Available for all sixth-generation Camaro models, this package also includes low-expansion front brake hoses and the corresponding hardware.
Moreover, this package is made for the Camaro enthusiasts who want the best braking performance and street drivability.
Furthermore, customers for Camaro SS with the LT1 V-8 and the Camaro LT with the 3.6L V-6 could avail of the performance exhaust that could improve the sound of the Camaro while giving the car a more premium look.
Since the exhausts are a direct replacement for the factory system, they also maintain the factory warranty. However, these kits are incompatible with the available dual-mode exhaust system. Also available are suspension- lowering kits, which include higher-rate front and rear coil springs as well as specially tuned struts and shocks.
These kits give the Camaro a more imposing stance as they help lower the vehicle by up to 0.8-inch (20mm), while further enhancing the vehicle’s ride and performance as well as improving responsiveness thanks to a lower center of gravity.
Chevrolet has come up with four suspension-lowering kits for the Camaro LT and SS coupe and convertible models. However, the SS suspension lowering kits are incompatible with models fitted with Magnetic Ride Control.
These kits will be available in early 2016. Chevrolet is also offering a kit that helps decrease air restriction for the Camaro SS with the LT1 V-8 – the performance air intake package. This kit comes with a reusable open-element air filter, a sealed compartment along with the needed installation hardware.
In addition kit will be available in early 2016. Last but not the least, customers could also avail of stylish easy-to-install engine covers meant to make the Camaro engine more appealing aesthetically.
These covers will be available in red, blue or black for the V-8 and V-6 engines by the end of the year. Chevrolet is planning to offer an engine for the 2.0L Turbo engine.
