Mercedes-Benz’s Mercedes-Maybach S600 flagship will have a starting price of $190,275, including shipping, when it goes on sale in April this year. The S600 is derived from the S-class sedan that has a base price of $167,825, including shipping. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 will be around 8 inches longer than the standard S-class sedan at 214.6 inches.

Mercedes re-launching Maybach as a sub-brand and units under it will feature upscale interiors and options. The Maybach sub-brand will eventually include an E class and SUV. The Maybach S600 is powered by a 6.0-liter, V-12, bi-turbo engine that provides up to 523 hp.

According to the carmaker, the level of wind noise inside the cabin of the S600 is even lower than the S-class Coupe, which is touted as the “quietest car in the world.”

The Maybach S600 features standard equipment that includes the Intelligent Drive safety and semi-autonomous driving package, the Magic Body Control active suspension, a new generation LED lighting and high-end entertainment systems.

The Maybach, however, will not be the priciest S class offered by Mercedes, since the high-performance S65 AMG carries a starting tag of $222,950. Likewise, AMG will remain as Mercedes’ high-performance range.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a marriage between perfection of the S-Class and the exclusivity of Maybach. Mercedes-Maybach models are known for embodying peerless exclusivity, boasting of extra levels of spaciousness as well as lavish, prestigious interiors that allow customers to personalize them according to their taste and preferences. Because of these, Mercedes-Maybach models are able to satisfy even the most discerning customers in the world.

Mercedes-Maybach is essentially a sub-brand that aims to transform Mercedes-Benz vehicles to a more exclusive form. Both Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-AMG are Mercedes sub-brands that offer prestige and exclusivity. While Mercedes-AMG delivers is aimed at luxury customers who value performance, Mercedes-Maybach caters to those whose opulence and status are of priority.

The company plans to launch its version of the S-Class in February 2015, as headlined by the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 powered by a 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine delivering 390 kW (530 hp) of output and 830 Nm of peak torque available from 1,900 rpm.

Also available is the Mercedes-Maybach S 500, which 4,663 V8 biturbo engine delivers 335 kW (455 hp) of output and 700 Nm of torque. It consumes just 8.9 liters of premium petrol per 100 km (NEDC combined) and emits 207 grams of carbon dioxide per km. Mercedes-Maybach will introduce the S 500 4MATIC in June 2015.

New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class boasts very low levels of wind noise. The noise level on the rear cabin -- despite the large windows – is even lower than on the S-Class Coupe that is considered as the quietest car in the world.
