2016 Nissan Maxima sedan definitely belongs to the hot car category and, being the eye-turner that it is, people are quite happy to be seen driving one. With its highly appealing exterior design, an impressive performance brought about by its 300HP 3.5 litre V6 engine and plush interiors, no wonder it is referred to by some as the four-door-sports car.

If given the chance, would you still long for a more aggressive, sportier version of this already unbelievably sporty car? To meet this demand, Nissan has recently announced a new Midnight Edition Package exclusively available for the sporty Nissan Maxima SR model.

Just adding $1,195 to the Maxima SR models $37,770 base price will get you an even more aggressive and sportier Maxima SR upgraded with the Midnight Edition Package.

The package is available in five color schemes: Super Black, Pearl White, Brilliant Silver, Coulis Red and Deep Blue Pearl, and comes with Charcoal hued leather interior.

According to Dan Mohnke, VP and Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations, this latest premium package comes in the heels of overwhelming customer response to the Maxima ‘Midnight’ accessories package that Nissan introduced last summer.

This new package has the advantage of being a factory installed option and is $1,000 cheaper when compared to the total cost if the additions were to be installed separately. The new appearance upgrade would surely delight customers as the resulting more aggressive look seems to enhance the premium SR to even greater levels.

The new Maxima SR Midnight Edition Package consists of: Five available colors; Leather-appointed interior in Charcoal with Alcantara seat inserts; 19-inch black wheels made of aluminum alloy; B lack rear sport spoiler; Black rear bumper diffuser; 245/40R19 all-season tire exclusively made for Maxima; LED low beam headlights; Aluminum sports pedals; Paddle shifters.

A lower profile and wide stance combined with the signature Nissan V-Motion grille, floating roof appearance and sporty front give the award-winning 2016 Maxima an overall premium high-end aura. Its interior likewise reflects its classy exterior with fine-craftsmanship and attention to the demands of modern-day travelers.

Connectivity is provided by NissanConnect and a high-quality 11-speaker Bose premium audio system. NissanConnect Services is powered by SiruisXM and is integrated with modern safety features such as Around View Monitor (AM) and Moving Object (MOD).

This new Maxima is a high performance car, powered by a 300 HP 35. Litre VQ-series V6 engine coupled with an Xtronic transmission system that is fine-tuned for a higher performance. At 30 mpg, the combination produces a noticeable 15 percent improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the previous generation.

Standard to the 2016 Maxima are the Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system, Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) -- all working together to ensure a safer ride for its occupants.

There are five models comprising the 2016 Maxima Series: the Maxima S, SV, SL SR and Platinum. The newly announced Midnight Edition appearance package is only available to the Maxima SR at the moment.
