Sales begin for Porsche Cayman Black Edition with price tag of $59,200

The Cayman Black Edition from Porsche is a two-seater mid-engine sports coupé that exhibits a sporty and timeless elegance. Befitting of the name, this coupé is made unique by combining black paint finish on the exterior with black partial leather on its interior.

The Cayman Black Edition has recently gone on sale in various Porsche Centres and is priced in the UK at £45,989 RRP and in Ireland at €82,767 RRP.

In the United States, the Cayman Black Edition is priced at $59,200, not including a $995 destination charge, while in Germany the vehicle costs 59,596 euros including VAT and country-specific equipment. As with any offering from Porsche, it comes fitted with standard special equipment.

At the center of the sports coupé is a 2.7-litre flat-six engine capable of delivering 275 hp (202 kW). On the exterior are Carrera Classic 20-inch wheels that appear more stylish with wider tires. This combination also manages to enhance the dynamic chassis responses, something the Cayman has been known for.

Another feature that is sure to capture the eye of everyone is the Bi-Xenon headlights that feature the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). Also available is the optional side window trims made of aluminium.

Moreover, another special standard equipment offered with the Cayman Black Edition is the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a satellite navigation that has online services which can provide real-time traffic information, for one.

Other features include the automatic anti-dazzle rear view mirrors, cruise control, front and rear ParkAssist, Sport Design steering wheel, and rain sensor.

For additional personal comfort to both the driver and the passenger, the Cayman Black Edition offers Bluetooth phone connectivity, two-zone climate control system, and heated seats. The Black Edition also comes with the Sound Package Plus, which includes a high-quality audio system, as standard.

Aside from the features that are exclusive to this Black Edition, it also has the standard equipment that comes with each Cayman model. These include the air conditioning, a universal audio interface that offers MP3 connectivity, and CDR audio system that comes with a 7-inch colour touchscreen.

For additional features, the model comes with the Porsche Stability Management (PSM), auto stop/start, Sports mode, and tyre pressure monitoring. It also comes with a three-year warranty and a three-year roadside assistance package.

For those who are interested to know more about the potential of this sports coupé, customers can participate in a complimentary course at its Silverstone Porsche Experience Centre.

The Stuttgart automaker’s all-in-black special series now includes the Cayman in addition to the Boxster and the 911 Carrera. Each of these models is differentiated from each other by their extensive levels of standard equipment.

Porsche is expanding the Black Edition line-up to include a new special edition of the Cayman. A strong complement inside the special edition series, which also includes the Boxster and the 911 Carrera, the Cayman Black Edition is distinguished with a timeless Black on Black design and an extensive level of standard equipment. Improvements to standard equipment include enhanced headlights, wheels, and sound system. Additional standard content includes the Sport Design steering wheel, door sill guards with Black Edition logo, auto-dimming rear view mirrors, and headrests embossed with the Porsche crest. Black paint is standard, while Jet Black Metallic is available as an option.

The Cayman Black Edition is powered by a 2.7 liter flat-six engine with 275 hp. 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels and Bi-Xenon headlights with PDLS (Porsche Dynamic Light System) set distinctive highlights, while two-zone climate control and heated seats provide a higher level of comfort for both driver and passenger. The Porsche Communication Management system with navigation, the upgraded Sound Package Plus and Park Assist for front and rear are also included as standard features on the Cayman Black Edition.

The Cayman Black Edition will reach showrooms in January, 2016. MSRP is $59,200, not including a $995 destination charge.
