Land Rover reveals that its All-New Range Rover Evoque Convertible is expected to debut in November. This will come after the company will be done with its development and testing program where it expects the Evoque Convertible to pass with high marks.
After its completion, the Evoque Convertible will then become the most capable convertible around the world. Evoque Convertible's design was initially showcased during the London takeover held not so long ago.
This was the event where six full-scale wireframe sculptures of the Evoque Convertible were displayed at iconic locations across London. To further highlight its all-terrain credentials, Land Rover will release a film to showcase them.
In the footage that was recently released, it shows the Evoque Convertible completing the last phase of testing which is usually done on the company’s Eastnor Caastle estate located in Herefordshire, UK.
The film also shows how the company’s engineers conducted its test on this luxury compact SUV in order to make sure that it has the expected all-terrain capability.
According to Mike Cross, who is Land Rover’s Chief Engineer for Vehicle Integrity, the company has always been proud of the fact that it remains to be the leader with respect to all-terrain capability and this current offering meets all expectations.
Cross shares that the Evoque Convertible has been fully tested worldwide and is more than capable of deliver a dynamic SUV experience largely due to a mix of advanced technologies with innovative engineering. Cross proudly states that it is the reason why it is being called as “The Convertible for all Seasons."
The company has confirmed that it expects to display the Evoque Convertible in time for the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015. Since it has already completed the rather extensive program, this derivative of the company’s multi-awarded Range Rover Evoque will continue the company’s practice of not just creating but also leading in new market segments.
Through a series of tests conduct across the globe, the Evoque Convertible has more than proven that it is indeed durable and capable. Its final sign-off however will be conducted at the Eastnor Castle Estate, where all of the different Range Rovers have been for the past 45 years as well.
The company says that while it makes its public debut during the Los Angeles International Auto Show, it will be officially launched in November and will go on sale in different key markets starting in the spring of 2016.
