Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will soon start deliveries of its new Caravelle Generation Six special edition model. The new Caravelle Six Edition is priced from £52,051 (RRP OTR incl. VAT) and was designed to stand out from the crowd with its customized interior and exterior features.

It features a two-tone customized color theme composed of Cherry Red and Candy White. Inside the car, Volkswagen has installed a range of personalized fittings in addition to cutting edge technology and decorative inserts.

The bespoke exterior finish of the new Caravelle takes cues not only from the company’s popular circa-1960 camper van, but also from the more contemporary T6 Caravelle.

Volkswagen seems to have aimed at making the Caravelle Generation Six as memorable as its cousins with the personalized finish and the powerful Euro 6 2.0 TDI engines with BlueMotion technology under the hood.

These engines come in two variants. One version is rated at 150 PS of power. The other one is slightly more powerful, with a rating of 204 PS. Both engines, however, are mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Upon entering the van, drivers and passengers alike can relax in the comfortable seats made of a combination of Alcantara and leather. Their footwear can rest on textile floor mats, which come in Moonrock and Titanium black variants.

Leather is also used for its modern and cutting multi-function steering wheel, which allows the driver to access the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) function with Front Assist. Though inspired by a circa-1960 van, the Caravelle Generation Six boasts of high technology systems.

These include the Discover Media infotainment and navigation system, which comes with DAB and Bluetooth. The interior’s aesthetics is rounded out by illuminated ‘Generation Six’ lettering, Dark silver brushed decorative trim, and a dashboard decorative insert.

Further enhancing the comfort of the van’s passengers and driver is a 3-zone Climatronic air conditioner, as well as heaters for the front seats.

The car’s two-tone customized finish is complemented by a special 18 ‘DISC’ set of alloy wheels, together with light emitting diode for both head and tail lights and fog lights at the front.

The grille for the Caravelle Generation Six also comes with special detailing. The side mirrors can be folded and adjusted using electrical controls. The rear windows come with privacy glass work and have the words ‘Generation Six’ emblazoned on the B-pillar.

The Caravelle Generation Six gives drivers access to Dynamic Chassis Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, parking sensors at the front and rear areas, as well as Automatic Post-Collision Braking and AppConnect to integrate your smartphone with the infotainment system touchscreen. Delivery is set to commence in November for those in the UK who have pre-ordered the limited edition Caravelle.

Press Release

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has launched a special edition of its Caravelle people carrier which pays tribute to its iconic roots. With a bespoke red and white two-tone exterior, the Caravelle Generation Six special edition has visual stand-out, while inside, decorative inserts on the dashboard and top of the range technology combine with bespoke interior fittings. Available to order now in Volkswagen Van Centres and costing from £52,051 (RRP OTR incl. VAT), the first vehicles will start to arrive in the UK in November.

The fresh new design is inspired by the two-tone paint finishes from Volkswagen’s iconic camper van of the 1960s, and along with the new design of the T6 Caravelle, the special edition is sure to turn heads wherever it goes. Thanks to the latest Euro 6 engines which are equipped with BlueMotion Technology as standard and the unique two-tone exterior, the new Caravelle Generation Six is already well on its way to becoming an icon of the future.

The Generation Six is available with a choice of two power outputs, both using the new EU6 2.0 TDI engine with 7-speed DSG gearbox, one with 150 PS and the second with 204 PS.

The finer details further enhance the Generation Six: a step illumination with ‘Generation Six’ lettering, decorative trim in ‘Dark silver brushed’ and a decorative insert across the dashboard to match the two-tone exterior.

The 3-zone Climatronic air conditioning and heated front seats help to ensure the perfect temperature inside the vehicle for all those travelling.

As well as the Cherry Red and Candy White two-tone paint finish the Generation Six comes with special edition 18” ‘DISC’ alloy wheels as standard, LED headlights and tail lights, front fog lights with cornering function, chrome detailing around the grille, folding and electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors, privacy glass to all rear windows and ‘Generation Six’ badging on the B-pillar.
