Special edition DB11 Henley Royal Regatta, designed by Q by Aston Martin, revealed

British luxury automaker Aston Martin celebrates its new partnership with the Henley Royal Regatta sporting event by designing a one-off DB11 sports car that they recently revealed. The car explores exclusive paint and upholstery colours, and premium craft elements.

Aston Martin recently launched the “Q by Aston”, which is the company’s personalization service at the Gaydon design studio. This was where they crafted the special edition Henley Regatta sports car, where they made use of the new options that were being offered by the new range.

To be more specific, the exterior of the DB11 has been finished with an exclusive Diavolo Red (an eye-catching dark metallic red paint) accented with a Satin Scintilla Silver roof, combined with an exterior pack and a carbon fibre body pack that cover the front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser, side strakes, hood blades, and mirror caps - all that in the lightweight material, and treated with a satin finish.

A handsome car will definitely need nice wheels, so the special edition DB11 was built with 20-inch Gloss Black Directional wheels with diamond turned faces and a smoked finish. The exterior look was then completed with carbon fiber exhaust tips and wings badge, smoked tail lights, and an exterior black pack for the dark exterior look.

Get inside the Henley Regatta DB11, and you’ll see the complete opposite of the exterior’s colour scheme. The cabin is wrapped mostly with Metallic Black leather, with a Q by Aston Martin trim, combined with bits and pieces of Chancellor Red leather of the seats for some noticeable details. Red stitching and carbon fiber bits can be found all over for a sportier look. Besides all that, there are Obsidian Black Alcantara on the headlining and cantrails, while a Shadow Chrome Jewelry pack adds to the individual detailing.

To make things clear, the Henley DB11 has nothing different under its skin, and it does not feature any unique bodywork, and purely just has finishes chosen from the latest selection of the Q personalisation items and touches, with selections made specifically by Aston Martin’s in house design team.

Henley Royal Regatta was first established in 1839 and remains popular attracting 300,000 visitors in the span of five days - from June 28 to July 2, 2017, which will be held in Henley-on-Thames, UK after the 2017 meeting on Wednesday. Of course, the special edition DB11 will be the centerpiece of an Aston Martin display.

The British automaker uses the DB11 to show what the Q by Aston Martin is capable of designing for its future consumers. This is the latest project finished by the company, and some of their other projects include the Vanquish S Red Arrows Edition.

Press Release

To celebrate its Official Automotive Partnership with the Henley Royal Regatta – founded in 1839 and one of the world’s most prestigious and historic sporting fixtures – Aston Martin has created a very special DB11.

The specification of this one-off Henley Regatta DB11 was carefully chosen by the Aston Martin Design Team. It features a raft of recently launched Q by Aston Martin – Collection options and explores the full gamut of exclusive paint and upholstery colours, material finishes and craft features, including some bespoke elements by Q by Aston Martin – Commission. The result is a car that’s distinctive and beautifully understated, mixed with classic colour combinations and superb contemporary finishes.

Starting with the exterior paintwork, the Henley Royal Regatta DB11 is finished in Diavolo Red combined with Satin Scintilla Silver roof and roof strakes available from Q by Aston Martin – Commission. Carbon Fibre features extensively on the exterior, with both the Carbon Fibre Body Pack (front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser) and Carbon Fibre Exterior Pack (Side Strakes, Hood Blades and Mirror Caps) selected from the Q by Aston Martin – Collection range, then treated to a distinctive satin finish.

A set of 20” Gloss Black Directional wheels with diamond turned faces and a smoked finish (again from Q by Aston Martin – Commission) plus Carbon Fibre Exhaust finishers, Smoked Tail Lights, Exterior Black Pack and Carbon Fibre Wings Badge complete the exterior’s dark detailing aesthetic.

Inside, the Aston Martin Design Team elected for a scheme that reverses the exterior colours, with extensive use of Metallic Black leather and a Q by Aston Martin Trim Split that introduces flashes of Chancellor Red leather on the seats and door panels. Chancellor Red contrast stitching unites the two upholstery hues and highlights the meticulous craftsmanship that defines Aston Martin interiors. Swathes of Obsidian Black Alcantara are used on the headlining and cantrails, while a Shadow Chrome Jewellery pack adds another sleek and subtle layer of detailing.

The special Henley Royal Regatta DB11 will form the centrepiece of an Aston Martin display showcasing the 104-year-old marque’s range of acclaimed sports cars. More than 300,000 spectators attend the Regatta each year, which is held over five-days at its traditional venue of Henley-on-Thames. In addition to the static display, a fleet of Aston Martins will provide transport for key Regatta official and VIP guests.

The 2017 Henley Royal Regatta will take place from Wednesday 28 June to Sunday 02 July.
