2017 Chrysler Pacifica receives new Touring Plus model

Article by Christian A., on June 4, 2017

2017 Chrysler Pacifica began sales in dealerships about a year ago. And now, the company is introducing an animal-friendly trim for those who want more features of the model without having to sit on animal skin.

The Touring Plus, also known as the sixth trim for the Pacifica lineup, falls in between the Touring and the Touring L trims. The package offers more standard (and optional) features without being stuck with those hot leather seats.

The comfy minivan will be given premium features such as a power lift gate and a new front fascia. Finished in a gloss black paint, the exterior gets a mesh lower fascia and new fog lights like the higher trim levels. There will be projector headlights on the front while the rear gets LED taillights. For a more comfortable ride, it will come with a three-zone automatic temperature control, as well as second- and third-row sunshades, and lets not forget the universal garage door opener.

Optional features that customers can choose from include: blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, a 3G Wi-Fi hotspot and a larger 8.4 inch touchscreen (in place of a standard 5 inch screen). For those who want to upgrade to an 8.4 inch Uconnect infotainment center to your Touring Plus trim and a set of 18-inch wheels, that will give you an additional balance of $995, that includes a free second-row overhead DVD player.

With the same engine power as the rest of the trims, the Touring Plus will be equipped with the same 3.6 liter V6 that yields 287 horsepower (214 kilowatts).

Head of Passenger Car Brands, Tim Kuniskis said that when the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was released last year, it brought a lot of new minivan buyers, and it resonated with some of the old minivan owners. So the release of the Touring Plus trim to the Pacifica lineup is some sort of a celebration of the success the 2017 model brought - giving customers more options amongst the range of minivans.

Now, the Chrysler Pacifica will be available in the following trims: LX, Touring, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus, and Limited, and lets not forget the Pacifica Hybrid with a hybrid V6 producing 260 horsepower (193 kilowatts).

The Touring Plus is priced at $32,360, which is just a little more than the Touring trim (at $30,995), and less than the Touring L trim (at $34,995). The prices stated above do not include the $1,095 destination fee just yet. Some of you might have already been waiting for this trim. And the wait is over because the higher content Chrysler Pacifica with cloth seats are available now.
