If you’re a pet lover with strong preference for our canine friends, then this newest concept vehicle from Japanese carmaker Nissan would be to your liking. In fact, a dog-lover would want Nissan to turn this concept into a production vehicle in the nearest time as possible.
Nissan is introducing the all-new Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs Concept, which has been designed according to the preferences of most dog owners in the United Kingdom. The X-Trail 4Dogs concept was basically an offshoot of a recent survey conducted by The Kennel Club -- the largest organization for promoting dog welfare in the UK – and covering more than 1,300 dog owners.
According to the survey, around 98.7 percent of the survey respondents use their vehicles to transport their dog with 88.7 percent of dog owners doing that at least once a week. Moreover, around 90.5 percent of dog owners transport their pets in the car when travelling for at least 10 minutes. These indicate how important a vehicle is when transporting dogs from one place to another.
Likewise, the survey shows that 88.9 percent of these dog owners would purchase a vehicle with dog-friendly features and 54.7 percent of respondents want their car to be easily accessible by their pets. Also, 71.5 percent of the respondents said they transport their dog in the boot space or back seat. In addition, 50.9 percent of dog owners said their vehicles are suitable for transporting their pets because of the large boot space.
Taking these responses into consideration, the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs concept came to life. Just as its moniker indicates, this crossover is basically the Nissan X-Trail but with features and elements that dogs – and their human owners -- would surely love. In fact, two dogs could perfectly become cozy inside the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs concept. This crossover concept transforms its luggage compartment into a comfortable cabin – with 445 liters of spaciousness -- for dogs, complete with a luxurious bed.
Aside from ample comfortable space, the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs also comes with 360-degree pull-out shower, a slide-away ramp and an integrated drying system. Once a dog settles down inside this little mobile hotel, it could snack on the dog treats on the smart dispenser or quench its thirst from the no-spill water bowl.
Security has also been taken into consideration. The Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs features a clip-on harness hook for transit safety. Also installed is a camera and monitor system that allows the front occupants to take a peek on what is happening on the little pet hotel, and vice versa. The owner and the dog could even talk to each other!
It is too bad that Nissan has no plans to produce the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs in the near future. But we can hope since having built the X-Trail 4Dogs, it means that the Japanese is serious about offering pet-friendly features.
