If you’ve been hoping to acquire a new Toyota RAV4, then this announcement will probably make your day. The Japanese automaker has revealed that certain models of the 2017 Toyota RAV4 will have price cuts in the hopes of keeping the crossover's value quotient high. Also, this will give the SUV the edge compared to its rivals in its category. The models that will have a discounted price are the LE, XLE, SE and Limited. However, the RAV4 Platinum and RAV4 Hybrid will be excluded from the said discounts. But all in all, this is good news for the Toyota patrons.
The Toyota RAV4 is considered as a bestseller in its small SUV range. Despite that, the 2017 Toyota RAV4 is only halfway through its model year. Toyota shocked us with the recent announcement of price drops which apply to both front wheel and all-wheel drive versions. They cover every trim except the Platinum and Hybrids. The standard 2017 Toyota RAV4 LE will now cost $24,410 for the FWD and $25,810 for the AWD, which means savings of $500. However, if you are more interested in a more standard layout, then you can obtain the largest discount of any model you desire, the price after the discount will be at $25,500 ($26,900 or AWD) -- an awesome $1,330 price slash.
Moving upwards to the top of the tier, the RAV4 SE costs $28,790 for FWD and $30,190 for AWD, an impressive $1,195 discount overall. With the Limited trim, you can benefit from a $925 price decrease, with the AWD only costing $32,305 while the FWD can be yours for $30,905. But take note that the price slash that was mentioned above doesn't include yet the $960 destination and handling fee, so you need to prepare more than the discounted price still.
Even with the offered price drop, the powertrain under the hood is still the same. The RAV4 is built with a 2.5 L I4 that will produce around 176hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. The 6 seed automatic transmission will deliver the power directly on either the front wheels or all 4 wheels, which highly depends on the purchaser's option. The RAV4's LE and XLE with front wheel drive are both considered as the most efficient vehicle that can reach 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
All RAV4 units will have the Toyota Safety Sense P as standard system, regardless of the trim level. But what does this really do? This state of the art system is equipped with a pre-collision warning system with automatic and pedestrian detection. Also, the package includes an automatic high beam headlights, dynamic radar cruise control and a lane departure warning system that will guide you back into your lane if you start to drift outwards. The price cuts have already been implemented by the Japanese automaker so you can avail it now without a problem. But it is best to ask your local dealers of the exact price of your chosen SUV and of the additional specs and versions so you can prepare your wallet.
