Coming out with a new A-Spec variant and the latest premium features, Acura is also equipping all its TLX models with AcuraWatch technology inspired by Acura Precision Concept.
By bringing the “precision crafted performance” on the exterior design, the already impressive performance of the Acura TLX is highlighted even further, explains Acura VP & GM John Ikeda. That said, the addition of a sportier A-Spec in the segment raises the TLX a notch higher as it also appeals to those in search of a performance-oriented model.
Regarding its new features, all V6 engine variants will come with a new rear diffuser with dual exhausts while the Technology Package consists of a power-operated height extension on the driver’s seat. In addition to this, the package features leather seats with high contrast stitching and piping with chrome side sills to match.
The new Acura TLX V6 offers the Advance Package which includes a deck-lid spoiler in body color, power folding side mirrors, heated steering wheel and outward rear seats. Other built-in features included in this package are 10 LED white ambient interior light piping, a wireless charging pod, Surround View camera system and trapezoidal LED fog lamps.

To top it all off, this trim level features the new matte black diamond pentagon grille with dark chrome surround while its side window surrounds come in matte black as well.
For its color, the A-spec’s exterior can be had in the trim-exclusive Still Night Blue Pearl but there are four other choices of colors available. To complete the sporty look, this model comes with A-Spec badging across the rear deck lid and at the front fenders.
About the A-spec’s interior scheme, customers can either choose the Full-Red or the Black leather with a combination of Alcantara fabric. Any of these can go with the black treated headliner, red ambient lighting in LED and the A-spec variant’s instrument panel which comes in brushed aluminum. The sport trim also features an exclusive steering wheel complete with A-spec badging.
For its engines, the 2018 TLX either comes with 290hp 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 or a 206hp 2.4-liter i-VTEC units. The top level variant is mated to a re-tuned 9-speed automatic gearbox while the entry level may come with the Technology Package. In any case, all V6 models can be availed either in Advance Package, A-Spec and Technology variants which are also offered either in all-wheel or two-wheel drive configurations.
