Audi will be offering something exciting for its United Kingdom market. The company announced that it will be adding new features as standard to the A4 range. It also confirmed the revival of the Black Edition version that was once a huge triumph for the 2018MY.
The last time the Black Edition was available for the previous A4 generation, it proved to be a success as 50 percent of UK buyers ordered them while they lasted. To make you all aware, the Black Edition will be available with any engine selection - from entry level 1.4-litre TFSI up to the most powerful 3.0-liter V6 TDI Quattro. So don’t be worried that you’ll have to get the range topper if you want the Black Edition.
Beginning with the specifications, the Black Edition comes with a set of 19-inch matt titanium five-spoke alloy wheels, or 18-inch gloss black alloys if you prefer those.
The titanium black finish is also applied to the following: side mirror housings, the single frame grille, the window surrounds to achieve a uniform look and also to serve as a contrast to the body.
Side skirts, rear spoiler, air intakes, rear privacy glass, acoustic front side windows and black roof rails are also available for the Avant version.
The A4 Black Edition features a flat-bottomed steering wheel and piano black inlays. Moreover, there is £550 worth of equipment added for no extra costs. Audi’s Safety & Service that includes emergency calls, online road assistance, and service request functions are standard with all 2018 A4s.
Exclusive to the Sport models will be a seven-inch full-colour display for the instrument instead of the original five-inch black monochrome display. The front seats are covered in Twin Leather upholstery featuring heated seats, while S models get a leather-Alcantara interior.
All models will come standard with cruise control and rear parking sensors. The new Technology Pack now offers the Virtual Cockpit, wireless charging, and MMI navigation plus. Moreover, the Comfort and Sound pack has been revised and now features either heated front seats of the keyless access system, a reversing camera or front parking sensors, and either a BOSE or Bang & Olufsen sound system.
As for the S models, Audi added the Audi Beam feature as a standard. This simply projects the four-rings emblem via LEDs on the ground when the car is parked or when the front doors are open.
2018 A4 Black Edition can be yours for as low as £32,530 for the 1.4 TFSI trim, and if you want the range-topping model, which is the V6 Quattro with 8-speed tiptronic, you will have to shell out £42,950.
