The 2018 Audi A8 is no doubt one of the more significant models that made its debut this year, and it is quickly becoming a favourite. Not only is it loaded with cool new features, it makes sure that the passengers are comfortable, entertained, and safe.

So that’s basically it for the new Audi A8. It definitely has a lot more to give compared to the third-generation model - physically and technologically.

Exterior Design

Physically, how significant are the differences? Is it much of an upgrade compared to the previous-generation, inside and out? At first glance, a lot more is going on with the new model, and you can tell that the brand new A8 was inspired by the Prologue Concept. It was given sleeker lines, thinner headlights, and a much wider grille on the front fascia - giving it a more modern look.

Moving on to the rear end, the new model gets a more elegant, but also hi-tech upgrade, visible from the sleeker roofline, to the all-new twin LED tail lights that are conjoined by the long laser-like strip from one end to another.

The last time we got excited about the A8’s design was back in 2013 for the third generation’s facelift. The third generation got redesigned bumpers, Matrix LED headlights that are glare-free and a pair of flatter LED tail lights with a continuous chrome strip, similar to that of the new A8 model.

Interior Design

Inside the cabin, you would see even more noticeable changes. Technology wise, the new A8 is now equipped with an updated MMI system that features Night Vision Assistant, head-up display, electromechanical power steering, and active noise cancellation - that all come as standard. Safety features include Active Lane Assist and Park Assist with 360-degree display.

The front seats can be customized to your liking with new coverings, inlays and colours, and they now have massage functions, while the passengers get relaxation seats with power footrest (for the higher trim). The center console is also wrapped in leather for the long wheelbase model.

Furthermore, the 2018 A8 has gotten heated central armrests, foot massage functions, and of course level 3 autonomous driving, putting the model at the very top of the segment when it comes to technology.

The company also made it a point to get rid of all the knobs and buttons from the central console to make it look cleaner and more hi-tech. Though it is not as clean as the Prologue Concept, you can see some similarities between the A8 and the E-Tron. It also features many more voice and touchscreen commands.
