Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe BMW CCA Edition was made as a raffle prize

Article by Christian A., on October 5, 2017

BMW’s Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe is no doubt one of the most desirable models out there considering that it comes with almost the whole package. From a head-turning exterior design, impressive power, practical features, and an upscale interior. Depending on how you are feeling, it can be sporty when you want it to be, or it can be the most relaxing cruiser to drive you out of the city without breaking a sweat. And since the Alpina has been pretty successful since it first came out in 2014, the company joined forces with BMW again to create this special edition B6 Gran Coupe.

This one-of-a-kind model has been given quite a lengthy name as the “BMW Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe BMW CCA Edition”. This model was especially made for an upcoming raffle that had been organized by the BMW Car Club of America. On the outside, it wears a signature Blue Metallic paint that represents Alpina, matched with a lovely white leather interior with piano black accents all over.

There is more to the four-door grand tourer’s interior. There are a number of silver inscriptions against a high-gloss lacquer finish on the center console too, while the steering wheel is hand-finished and comes with white stitching details to complement the seat upholstery. This is also why the Alpina B6 gets white piping on the floor and a set of trunk mats. To finish off the look, Alpina put B6 embossed logos onto the headrests.

Under the hood, the engine gets a one-off plaque and signatures of Burkard, Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen. These are the guys behind Alpina. The automaker gave the B6 Gran Coupe a biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton-metres) of torque. This enables it to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour (0 to 96 kph) in 3.6 seconds, before continuing on to hit a maximum speed of 198 mph (324 kph).

This one-off model also comes with an Akrapovič exhaust system, made of only titanium. Thus, it dropped 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms) over the standard setup. The one-piece exhaust system measures around 12 feet (3.6 metres) from the downpipes to the quad tailpipes at the back.

At over $130,000, you can get the bespoke Alpina B6 Gran Coupe that has features that you cannot get from the US-spec model. However, this is not being put up on sale but will be raffled out instead by BMW CCA. Other prizes that are included in the raffle include an M2 as the first prize and an M240i as the main prize. As they sell over 5,000 tickets, another M240i will be added to the raffle. The lucky winner who will bring this special edition Alpina B6 Gran Coupe home will be selected this October in Georgia.
