Pricing starts at $25,970 for 2018 GMC Terrain

General Motors crossover retail sales grew an impressive 20% last month, and recorded a 15% hike for the first 4 months of this year thanks to the performance of today's GMC line-up. Its sales are anticipated to further increase around summer with the launching of the brand new 2018 GMC Terrain. Now the American automaker has officially announced the pricing details of its upcoming crossover.

After 9 years on the market, GMC has finally decided to revamp its two-row Terrain, considered to be a slightly swankier variant of the Chevrolet's Equinox. The given price tag will get you the base SL model, which boasts of features such as proximity key with push button start, a leather covered steering wheel, LED taillights and daytime running lights. The next-gen Terrain will have a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $25,970, which includes the $975 destination charge. Terrain SL is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5 L 4-cylinder engine that will produce around 170 hp delivered to the front wheels by a 9 speed automatic transmission.

Those who prefer all-wheel drive will have to dish out $28,795 for the special luxury edition (SLE) trim. This option will require an additional $1,750 to the standard price. By choosing the SLE, buyers get the turbo-diesel 1.6 L engine that is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission. Its 137 hp diesel inline 4 forces a solid 240 lb-ft of torque, a hugely impressive feat. However, it costs an extra $3,770 to get the SLE. The price rises to $34,315 if buyers opt for the AWD unit.

Meanwhile, the SLT trim boasts of a large 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system, leather seating surfaces, chrome exterior accents, dual zone automatic climate control, 110 volt power outlet, heated front seats and remote starting system. The four-wheel drive Terrain SLT will begin at $32,295, and an additional AWD will require one to dish out $34,045. Getting the SLT diesel engine will further increase the price to $35,140 and to $36,890 if you want all four wheels working.

The top tier Denali variant of the brand new Terrain will come with a standard 2.0 L engine, and a further expanded equipment list that includes 19 inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, heated steering wheel, hands free lift gate, 8 inch infotainment system that comes with a navigation system, Bose 7 speaker audio system, power passenger seat and an ample range of active safety features.

However, the Denali option will not offer a diesel engine, so there are 2 price points to consider: the FWD Denalis will cost you $38,495, while the AWD option bumps the price up to $40,245. All mentioned prices will exclude tax, title, license, dealer fees and alternative equipment.
