Jeep is obviously busy and has been seen all over the globe, from revealing the Grand Commander in China, preparing the Renegade for a facelift, and launching the refreshed Cherokee. But even with all these projects lined up, the automaker has not stopped from adding a new special edition version for its European market. We’re referring of course to the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee S that customers from several countries in Europe can already order.
What makes the range-topping edition of the Grand Cherokee stand out from the rest of its variants would be the fact that it sits on 20-inch wheels and it features blackened lower and upper grilles in the front bumper, tinted windows with black chrome surround, and dual exhausts with black chrome finish. When you enter its cabin, it seems to match the exterior with its blacked out details including the wood finishes and black instrument panel accent stitching. It also gets Anodized Gun Metal accents.
Customers have a wide array of choices when it comes to choosing an exterior colour for the Grand Cherokee S, with 10 different hues. There are also three engines including the entry-level version that is a 3.0 liter diesel that carries out 250 horsepower (186 kilowatts), a 3.6 liter V6 with naturally aspirated gasoline engine, with as much as 286 horsepower (213 kilowatts), and a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 with as much as 352 horsepower (262 kilowatts), which is considered to be the range topping model.
Whichever variant you get, your engine will be paired to an eight speed automatic gearbox, which is in charge of delivering power to all four wheels through the Quadra Drive II all wheel drive system, with a rear electronic limited slip differential. Drivers are free to choose from five driving modes including Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock.
If you already own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but want this blacked out version, you could take your car to an aftermarket tuner to have it modified, and this is what you’ll need.
First, a fresh coat of black which is then followed by Low Gloss Granite Crystal accents on the badging, grille bezels, step pad, tail lamps, and 20 inch aluminum wheels. As you can see, even the grille and window surrounds have turned black, so they can be painted in gloss black paint too. Furthermore, give it a sports suspension while adding a black chrome finish for the dual exhaust.
To upgrade your car into a Grand Cherokee S, you could add a panoramic dual pane sunroof, a steering wheel in leather, some Mopar bright metal pedals, and black Nappa SRT-like perforated leather seats with black accent stitching. Believe me, adding all this could make people believe that your car is actually a Grand Cherokee S.
