After introducing its most intelligent sedan and wagon, Mercedes-Benz once again welcomes a new member of the E-Class family. Armed with state of the art technology, the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe also features both the aesthetic and classic appeal of a grand tourer.
Mercedes has equipped its suspensions with selective damping to ensure a more agile and sportier driving feel. That is of course aside from its powerful engine. Just like its siblings, the Coupe comes with the latest driver assistance systems, smartphone integration and a widescreen cockpit.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Weber likewise said in statement how the new E-Class Coupe combines the most advanced engineering, “agile sportiness” and modern luxury. He believes it has the “spirit” and “personality” that appeal to both mind and heart on the same level.
With all the comforts now in place, Mercedes-Benz takes a step further by bringing the Concierge Service within the Coupe’s amenities. For those already with “mbrace Secure” and “mbrace Connect” services, customers can continue to enjoy personalized assistance for navigation, bookings, reservations as well as information on sporting events, cultural events and tourist spots. To access these outstanding features, customers only need to register and subscribe to mbrace service. The Concierge can be contacted via Mercedes me app or through the vehicle’s iCall button.
Because the new Coupe is part of Mercedes Benz’s E-Class family, the latest iteration comes with more intelligent features than ever before. The standard Active Brake Assist for example can alert the driver of an impending collision. This in turn helps with emergency braking or if the situation requires, it may also employ the use of brakes autonomously.
Other exceptional features include Drive Pilot system for semi-autonomous driving and Distance Pilot DISTRONIC system for pre-programmed distance and speed limit. The E-Class Coupe also comes with other optional upgrades such as high resolution LED Intelligent lighting system with illuminating effects, automatic high beam, and 72 individually activated high-performance LEDs for the headlights.
The Magic Vision Control comes as standard for Mercedes’ 4MATIC E400 Coupe. This intelligent technology efficiently cleans up the windscreen and is complete with wiper blades with integrated water feed line. The wiper blade truly works like magic since there is no water surge whatsoever when it is sprayed on the windshield. The blades also keep warm to block ice and snow from sticking on the surface during winter.
Mercedes unveiled its first “sporty coupe” back in 1968 that goes by the name “Stroke Eight” and was later on followed by the CLK series. Of course, the newer versions of the sport coupe come with a better design and performance --- just like this new Coupe.
The all-new 2018 E-Class Coupe will be officially launched in January at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It is expected to go on sale by summer of next year. Watch out for it!
