A few months back, Nissan announced that the 2018 Nissan Armada will be getting a number of upgrades. But now, the company has finally revealed what’s in store for the range topping Platinum Reserve trim of the SUV at the State Fair of Texas. And one of the coolest things it comes standard with now is the Intelligent Rear View Mirror that allows you to view the rear view camera as a mirror, or you could switch it to display the view of the rear-mounted camera.
The Platinum Reserve not only gets technology upgrades. Physically, it has been made to look more luxurious than the lower trims. For instance, customers could choose from two-tone leather seats that match the dark brown and quilted charcoal. And to add some extra detail, the stitching will be in orange. To further add to that, there will be Black Quartz trim around the cabin, and of course, an exclusive Platinum Reserve emblem on the console to let everybody know that the buyer drives the range topping trim.
To match the ultra-luxurious cabin, Nissan made sure that the Armada Platinum Reserve’s exterior looks just as unique. The grille gets dark chrome pieces around it, while the door handles and the mirror caps get an upscale look too. The new 20-inch wheels also get the same dark chrome finish.
Customers could get their hands on the Platinum Reserve trim beginning in October. The range topper will start at $62,985 for the rear-wheel drive, which already includes the destination fee of $1,295. On the other hand, the four-wheel drive variant costs a little more starting at $65,885 after destination.
It wasn’t just the Armada Platinum Reserve that made it to the State Fair of Texas. Nissan took advantage of the event to show the public the Midnight Edition versions of the Titan, Titan XD, and Frontier pickups. All three trucks feature blacked out pieces including the front grille, headlight surrounds, foglight trim, and the fender louvers on the XD. A set of 20 inch blacked out wheels, and some Charcoal accents, are included in the Titan too.
Currently, Nissan has not released the pricing information of the Midnight Edition models but that’s expected to arrive anytime soon as sales are slated to begin this fall. Billy Hayes, division vice president of Nissan Sales, said that customers would save around 50 percent of the price if they get the Midnight Edition Package, rather than ordering the items separately. This strategy makes it more appealing to value seekers as well as those who look for a car that stands out of the crowd. If you were to choose between the three trucks, which one of the would you pick and why?
