Following the unveiling of the HK GT Gran Turismo at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Pininfarina is showing off another all-electric car concept. Dubbed as the H500 saloon, this new electric study is being presented at Auto China 2018, also known as the 2018 Beijing Motor Show.
The new H500 saloon is actually one of the two new electric concepts born from the collaboration between Pininfarina and Hybrid Kinetic Group, a Hong Kong-based high-tech brand. The other is the new K350 four-seat sports utility vehicle.
HK GT Gran Turismo, H500 electric saloon and K350 SUV are the newest products of the companies’ joint effort to develop clean energy vehicles. All three are being shown at the Beijing Motor Show. The new H500 electric saloon was designed to suit customers with a dynamic lifestyle. It exudes both elegance and sportiness, while boasting sophisticated elements and pure forms.
Up front, the new H500 electric saloon a front grille has become a signature detail for HK vehicles. The front end of the electric saloon also features two side air intakes that help convey its positioning as a sporty and youthful offering. Its body features ribbing traversing the electric saloon, helping define its full, sober volumes while providing a sense of tension.
Inside, the new H500 electric saloon could comfortably accommodate up to four occupants, through its four individual seating units that seem like four protective cocoons. Interestingly, both the front and rear passengers are provided with adjustable touch screens. There is also a touchscreen -- sliding on the door panels – that allows occupants to share multimedia.
As for propulsion, the H500 electric saloon – just like the HK GT Gran Turismo and the K350 4-seater SUV – come fitted with electric motors with a power rating reaching more than 300 kW. This is supported by a groundbreaking traction system, battery, control unit as well as a range extender that allows the H500 electric saloon to travel more than 1,000 km. The new H500 electric saloon could spring from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of around 250 km/h.
On the other hand, the K350 is an electric compact SUV with a refined and elegant design as well as a strong and sturdy character. The HK GT, meanwhile, features a gullwing door.
The HK GT Gran Turismo, H500 electric saloon and K350 4-seater SUV join other creations by Pininfarina and HK – like the H600 luxury saloon unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show 2017 as well as the K550 5-seater and K750 7-seater SUVs shown at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show.
