Pogea Racing upgrade package for Ferrari 488 GTB is even better than the Pista

Article by Christian A., on April 24, 2018

Ferrari decided to boost the 488 GTB and made its mid-engined V8 machine beefier for a more hardcore 488 Pista, which we saw around 2 months ago. Now, the engineers from Pogea Racing learnt from this and did the exact same thing, while managing to squeeze out even more power from the biturbo 3.9 liter V8.

If the 488 from Maranello can bring out 720 horsepower and 770 Newton metres (568 pound feet) of torque, the FPlus Corsa project pushes its output even more by another 100 horsepower and 130 Newton metres (96 lb ft), giving it a total output of 820 horsepower (603 kilowatts) and 900 Newton metres (664 lb ft).

The engine isn’t all that was tweaked here, as Pogea Racing decided to play with its exhaust system and decided that it would install stainless steel flaps to make the most out of the V8’s beautiful soundtrack. After all the upgrades that had been done to the powertrain, there is a palpable impact on the Ferrari 488 GTB’s performances as it has become quicker than the Pista.

In just 2.8 seconds, the 488 GTB can hit 60 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a full stop, while the Pista can do it in 2.85 seconds.. Top speed for the Ferrari 488 GTB is now 215 miles per hour (345 kilometers per hour), making it pretty much the same for the Pista’s in excess of 211 mph (340 kph) velocity.

Pogea Racing decided to give the Ferrari 488 GTB an aerodynamic kit. The body has a prominent wing at the back, and most of its bits and pieces are made of carbon fiber to ensure that it still is lightweight. Overall, 42 kilograms (93 pounds) had been shaved off.

It is now finished in custom 21-inch wheels that are wrapped in Michelin tires. Pogea Racing did not share interior photos of the said model, but it undoubtedly comes with several highlights as we know that there are a number of ways to spice up the cabin to match the exterior upgrades too.

If you already own a Ferrari 488 GTB and are interested in this type of modification, you have to decide quickly because the aftermarket tuner said that they will only convert 20 examples of the Ferrari 488 GTB. Take note that tuning will take place in Germany. The limited edition F Plus Corsa was revealed this week during the 2018 Top Marques event in Monaco. And here, the company also announced that the upgrade package is offered for €35,000, which is equivalent to about $43,100.
