BMW will launch the fourth generation of its X5 SUV to the global market in March 2019. Its high-performance version, the X5 M, would follow but that would take some time. As there would be customers who want their new X5 looks sportier than usual, BMW is allowing them to dress up their SUVs in M style through M Performance Parts.
Just in time for the global launch of the new X5 (05), BMW will be offering an extensive range of M Performance Parts, as available through the Original BMW Accessories program. Just like any other M Performance Parts, the ones that will be available for the new X5 were developed through racing expertise of BMW M. All of these M Performance Parts have a functional purpose, such as enhancing the X5’s aerodynamics or contributing to its already intelligent lightweight concept.
A number of M Performance Parts for the new X5 are made from carbon fiber, giving the SUV a more striking appearance inspired by motor racing. Most of these CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) components feature a final high-gloss polish for further depth effect.
Available M Performance Parts for the new BMW X5 includes an air intake trim element for the standard bumper and the front winglets as well as for rear winglets and the rear diffuser. The new X5 could also be availed with M Performance mirror caps and side sill foils. The latter are branded with the M Performance inscription.
Aside from these M Performance Parts, the Original BMW Accessories program will also offer 20-inch M light alloy wheel Star Spoke 748 M for the fourth-generation BMW X5, as shod with all-terrain tires. BMW M is also offering larger tires such as the 22-inch M Performance light alloy wheel Start Spoke 749 M with rolled rim well (flow forming). Interestingly, each of their wheels is around 1 kg lighter than a comparable wheel of the same size.
Likewise offered for the next-gen BMW X5 is the M Performance sports brake system that includes 4-piston fixed calipers on the front as well as inner-vented and perforated M Performance brake discs. The brake calipers are finished in red to highlight the M Performance sports brake.
Inside, the new BMW X5 can be availed with M Performance components such as the M Performance steering wheel with high-grip Alcantara handling area with large thumbrests. This M Performance steering wheel can be availed with M Performance steering wheel trim in carbon fiber with M Performance inscription and Alcantara insert. Customers may also avail of M Performance floor mats with M Performance inscription, as well as pedal pads and footrest in stainless steel. BMW is also offering the M Performance Drive Analyser that is derived directly from motor racing.
M Performance accessories available for new BMW X5 include the M Performance slide set for the BMW LED door projectors, the M Performance key wallet, and M Performance tire bags.
