The new 2019 BMW Z4 Roadster has now been unveiled to the global public at the world renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the same place where BMW first revealed the BMZ Concept Z4 in 2017. The latest generation of the Roadster was unveiled in all glory in the form of the all-new 2019 BMW Z4 M40i First Edition.
The sporty yet elegant proportions of the all-new BMW Z4 quickly betray its dynamic and sporting potential as achieved through a central sitting position for the driver, a perfect 50:50 axle load distribution, compact wheelbase, wide tracks and low center of gravity. It looks is defined by the BMW kidney grille with a mesh design and flanked by vertically stacked headlights. The looks of the latest BMW Roadster is also defined by long clamshell hood extending over the front wheels, large air breathers on the front wheel arches as well as by a characteristic spoiler integrated into the rear lid.
All of these visual elements are present in the new BMW Z4 M40i First Edition, which is also laden with a number of specific design and equipment features. Featuring a Frozen Orange Metallic body paintwork, the new Z4 M40i First Edition comes with an electrically operated textile soft top in anthracite with silver effect. These details are complemented by the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line and black exterior mirror caps, as well as a set of two-tone, double-spoke 19-inch light alloy wheels. The First Edition also makes use of Adaptive LED headlights.
Inside, the new BMW Z4 M40i First Edition boasts of Vernasca black leather trim with decorative stitching, BMW Head-Up Display, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, and the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with two high resolution digital displays.
Essentially a BMW M Performance model, the new BMW Z4 M40i First Edition can sprint from nil to 60 mph in under .4.4 seconds, thanks to an uprated 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine that delivers 382 hp of max output (rating for US model) and 369 lb.-ft. of peak torque. This power is supported by a BMW M tuned sports suspension with electronically controlled dampers. It also features M Sport braking system and an electronically controlled M Sport rear differential.
As for the non-M Performance Z model -- like the all-new 2019 BMW Z4 30i that will arrive in the United States in Spring 2019 – BMW will release the full details and specs on September 18, 2018. The BMW Z4 M40i, including the First Edition, will arrive in the second quarter of 2019.
