Finally, the refreshed 2019 Buick Envision has been revealed to us by the automaker. Buick then says that most of these changes on both its looks and its mechanism were made in response to their customers’ feedback for the crossover when the 2016 model year was launched.
The 2019 Buick Envision now has a new front fascia, with the new headlights and the grille that make the facelifted model look more like the other new Buick models. It now sits on a set of 19 inch wheels and the rear has got new taillights as well. HID headlights now come as a standard, and customers could go for the optional LEDs on the top two trim levels.
They can also opt for the optional 2.0 liter inline four engine that carries out 295 pound feet of torque, which is a good improvement from the previous 260. Power output, however, remains at 252 horsepower. This engine is paired to a nine speed automatic transmission instead of the six speed transmission on its predecessor.
That mechanical upgrade makes it half a second quicker when it does its 60 miles per hour sprint from standstill, according to the automaker. Meanwhile, the model’s 2.5 liter engine will still be paired with the six speed automatic transmission.
Aside from what has been mentioned earlier, the 2019 model year will be getting a redesigned brake booster that is meant to reduce brake pedal effort. It also gets a back up camera with enhanced visibility, a new microphone for clearer Bluetooth phone calling, quicker heating heated seats, and brand new wireless charging technology that is compatible with the Apple iPhone 8 and X. Engine stop start system can easily be disabled as well. General Motors had not allowed the drivers to disable the feature but Buick now claims that the stop-start operation is smoother.
Inside, the 2019 Buick Envision features a cabin air ionizer, an option to choose between regular cruise control and adaptive cruise control, as well as a “Tire Fill Alert” system that helps drivers know when the Envision’s tires have been inflated properly.
We expect to see the 2019 Buick Envision to be available in the market beginning in spring of this year. It will have a starting price of $32,990 before destination, while the fully loaded Premium II trim level will start at $44,595. In fact, the automaker says that the Envision has been successful at attracting new customers - 60 percent of Envision customers are actually new to General Motors.
Unlike other automakers who focus on what they want to develop, Buick’s main goal also is to focus on what the market wants and to provide them with a car that will fit their lifestyle more than anything else.
