For the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Aston Martin announced the debut of its brand new Design Prototype 100. This is the latest concept to debut in the Gran Turismo 6 video game and according to Aston Martin, the stunning Design Prototype 100 was developed in-house by the company’s Design team.

DP-100 is a virtual-only GT race that will be available for PS3 fanatics to download in July 2014. For those who don’t know, Aston Martin is not the only carmaker to make a concept car especially for the Gran Turismo 6 game as other manufacturers also unveiled their creations.

Nissan introduced the 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, Mitsubishi revealed the XR-PHEV Vision Gran Turismo, Mercedes-Benz the AMG Vision Gran Turismo, BMW the Vision Gran Turismo, while Volkswagen will bring to Goodwood the GTI Roadster Gran Turismo Concept.

Aston Martin is introducing a new racer that could only be driven virtually -- DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo. Featuring the shape of the Design Prototype 100, the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo will be one of the downloadable virtual cars in the massively popular racing game for PlayStation3, Gran Turismo 6 (GT6).

DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo was developed in-house by Aston Martin’s design team led by Design Director Marek Reichman. It could be downloaded for the Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) PS3 game starting July 2014, after its global debut at 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Aston Martin’s the design team and engineers started on a blank sheet of paper and toiled for six months to create the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo. While a beautiful virtual race car with a high degree of engineering integrity, the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo actually shows how Aston Martin could go beyond its boundaries. It is powered by a twin-turbo V12 mid-engine that could deliver 800 bhp of max output, allowing the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo to keep up with the game’s high-octane high-adrenaline character.

The Aston Martin design team created the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo employing the same techniques employed in the development of the British carmaker’s production sports cars. All started with hand sketches followed by 3D modeling and then the car was fully realized in the virtual world. The new DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo offers brilliant levels of detail, a fully functional suspension system as well as state-of-the-art electronics.
