After yesterday’s leaked photos and specs, the latest offering from British auto maker Aston Martin is here: this is the new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish! According to the official press release, the new Vanquish promises the beginning of an exciting and confident future for the Aston Martin brand.
If you look at the photos you will see that the new Vanquish borrows styling cues such as the elegant new waist, elongated side strakes and LED rear light blades from the impressive One-77 supercar.
The design of the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish is highlighted by the stunning new Aero Duct on the rear boot lid. As we said yesterday, the new Vanquish is powered by a revised version of the naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 petrol engine mated to the Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox.
This naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 petrol mill is tuned to deliver up to 565 bhp (or 573 PS) of motive power as well as up to 620 Nm of torque available at 5,500 rpm. This impressive power level makes the new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish the most powerful production model from the carmaker yet, outmuscled only by the strictly limited edition Aston Martin One-77 supercar that costs around £1.2 million.
With the help of the new naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 petrol engine, the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish is capable of sprinting from a standstill to a speed of 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.1 seconds as well as reach a top speed of 183 mph or 295 km/h. Despite this amount of power, the British auto maker promises better fuel consumption for the V12 engine under the hood of the new Vanquish.
Moreover, the new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish is a true super GT and features body panels constructed from carbon fiber, which was chosen mainly because of its high strength-to-weight ratio and flexibility of form. Furthermore, the car new offers a more spacious cabin and a boot of around 368 liter. This means that its boot capacity is around 60 percent larger than that of the DBS.
Just like any Aston Martin, the 2013 Vanquish will be hand-built at the company’s global headquarters at Gaydon in Warwickshire and will be available as a 2+2 or 2+0. The 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish sits atop a broad line-up of world-class sports cars including the exquisite DB9, sporty V8 Vantage and luxurious four-door Rapide.
The new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish comes with a price that starts at £189,995 or $141,185 or €235.479.
