Aston Martin to unveil Vanquish Volante at Pebble Beach

Article by Anita Panait, on July 22, 2013

Aston Martin will unveil its new Vanquish Volante at the 2013 Pebble Beach Automotive Week in California, which is slated from August 14-18, 2013. The unveiling of the new Vanquish Volante will complete the trio of spectacular world debuts that Aston Martin set for its centenary year. The 2013 Pebble Beach Automotive Week will be an important venue for Aston Martin, as it is where it would have the global debut of the 2014 Vanquish Volante as well as the US debut of the 2015 V12 Vantage S and CC100 Speedster Concept.

Aston Martin will show the new Vanquish Volante and V12 Vantage S at a series of celebratory events set during the Pebble Beach Automotive Week.  Aston Martin plans to show the CC100 concept for the first time in North America at the climax of the Automotive Week. The CC100 concept will cap Aston Martin’s presence at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where the brand is a featured marque for the 2013 event on August 18, 2013.

Julian Jenkins, Aston Martin’s Regional Director for The Americas, remarked that they the Pebble are delighted to be a featured marque at the Pebble Beach Automotive Week for 2013 as the brand celebrates its first 100 years.

He added that they forward to welcoming current Aston Martin owners as well as new customers and auto enthusiasts in their celebratory events at The Aston Martin Estate throughout the weekend.  Aston Martin plans to commence the festivities with an exclusive media preview at Pebble Beach on the morning of August 14. Later that day, Aston Martin will unveil the Vanquish Volante and V12 Vantage S at McCall’s Motorworks Revival.

Vanquish Volante remains congruent with the distinct visual language of the Aston Martin brand, yet it possesses subtleties and nuances that make it a class of its own. Taking a page out of the One-77 supercar, the Vanquish Volante is a visual spectacle that features a folding fabric roof below a tonneau, aerodynamically-tuned decklid that boosts performance, rear light blades that are LED-powered, side strakes that have been lengthened, and waist that has been elegantly styled.

The subtleties and nuances are also displayed in the full height windscreen, not typical of an Aston Martin, and the suit of carbon fibre panels that envelope the 2 + 2 cabin that is adorned in luxury and sophistication: authentic Luxmil leather, full grain and of the highest quality, that comes with optional quilting, satin chrome trim, and metal controls. All these manifest the classy and well-appointed interior and over-all look of the Vanquish Volante.

Aston Martin Vanquish Volante possesses a body frame that is born out of carbon fibre. This ensures balanced and proportional high strength-to-weight ratio and also enhances the car’s flexibility of form.

What this results to is a reduction in mass, a more shapely exterior and a more coherent form. The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante also has a boot that is a full 50% larger than the DBS Volante. From the roof up, the new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is measured at 279 liters, making it ideal for daily drives and cross-country long drives.
