Aston Martin revealed today two Cygnet Launch Edition models: White and Black. As expected, the new editions celebrate the commencement of production of the new Aston Martin city car based on the Toyota iQ.
Aston Martin Cygnet Launch Edition White comes with a Snow White paint with a mix of silver mesh, chrome brightwork and White Diamond turned alloy wheels. Inside, the car features seats hand trimmed in Pearl white leather with perforated Alcantara inserts, as well as satin chrome.
The Cygnet Launch Edition Black features a Magic Black metallic paint with a deep sea green effect, offset by matt black louvers and chrome brightwork. The interior is finished in pure black full grain leather, perforated in a specially-developed diamond pattern.
The design of the interio is completed by dark chrome accents. Both editions will come with a bespoke Bill Amberg five-piece luggage set, especially designed for and tailored for the smallest model ever created by Aston Martin.
For those who don’t know, the Aston Martin Cygnet offers all you need from a city car, such as ABS, nine airbags, stability control, electronic brake assist and retractable door mirrors, a luxurious interior specification, including keyless entry and start, heated seats and satellite navigation. Cygnet production will start in April 2011 and the car will have a base price of £30,995.
The new Aston Martin Cygnet has been an appealing proposition to both current and new clients of the brand. This is not surprising as the new Cygnet is considered as the newest member of Aston Martin’s fleet of ultimate metro transport – in addition to a V8 Vantage, DB9, Rapide and the DBS – thanks to its compact built, advanced technology, and impressive performance.
In fact, the Cygnet comes with an innovative array of active and passive safety technologies that secure and protect the driver and passengers, as well as pedestrians. These technologies include nine airbags, ABS, stability control, retractable door mirrors and electronic brake assist.
Moreover, the new Aston Martin Cygnet features a keyless entry and start, satellite navigation and heated seats. Measuring just three meters in length, the new Cygnet is truly a compact vehicle that is unmistakably an Aston Martin, thanks to the marque's characteristic design language like the metal grille, inverted rear lights and elongated side strake.
This new compact is the eighth major production car to come out of Aston Martin’s Gaydon facility since 2004, as assembled in a new dedicated site. Cygnet represents Aston Martin's current commitment to local manufacturing in the United Kingdom, as backed by a strong local supplier network that never fails to provide the finest parts and materials.
