Audi posted a 10-percent jump in vehicle sales in July 2014 to 144,000 units, as well as an 11-percent leap in sales in the first seven months of the year. Audi sales chief Luca de Meo remarked in a statement that the German luxury carmaker is in a "very good position" to top 1.6 million in car deliveries this year after managing to post record sales in the first seven months of 2014.
Audi posted a 16-percent jump in sales in Asia-Pacific in July, to 56,250. It also sold 16 percent more vehicles in China in the month to 48,279 units. Audi saw its sales in the United States gain 12 percent to 14,616.
The luxury carmaker also saw a 5-percent jump in sales in its home market Europe to 63,950. Audi particularly went strong in the United Kingdom in July, seeing sales jump 11 percent to 12,852 vehicles.
Sales in home turf Germany just leaped 2 percent to 22,303 units. According to Audi, the A6 played a vital part in its growth in the month. Audi sold 14 percent more A6 globally in July 2014 to 26,500 units. Gaining the largest was the A3, which deliveries grew 52 percent in the month to around 25,450 cars.
