Confirmation of UK pricing this week has paved the way for even more elegant, more technologically sophisticated and more fuel efficient new generation Audi A8 models to plot a course for the UK. The new generation Audi A8 is now available to order in the United Kingdom with a starting price of £58,800.

Due to arrive in the UK in January 2013, the new Audi A8 boasts of revisions to its weight-optimized, mostly aluminum Audi Space Frame (ASF) body as well as a host of technological advances like the new MatrixBeam Light Emitting Diode headlights and an improved line-up of EU6-compliant engines.

The front of Audi’s luxury flagship features a re-sculpted bonnet, a single frame grille, and the lower edged headlight units. Its rear features revised LED tail lamps and a bumper that incorporates two rhomboid tail pipes. The new generation A8 now features new chrome elements, new high gloss black window surrounds and five new colors.

The new Audi A8 boasts of the very innovative and sophisticated MatrixBeam LED technology that sets new benchmarks. The MatrixBeam’s high-beam headlights employ 25 individual LEDs per unit that can be switched on and off or dimmed individually depending on the situation. This allows the headlight system to respond precisely to other vehicles while keeping the road brightly lit – aided by on-board camera detects other car ahead.

This combo allows the Audi MatrixBeam LED headlights to cover relevant parts of the high-beam by dimming or shutting off individual diodes while preserving illumination is in the remaining sections. The lighting system employs predictive route data from the navigation system with MMI Touch to accurately adjust light distribution according to the current driving situation. It can even recognize and act on route data like corners and road types.

Considered as one of Audi’s flagship model, the interior of the A8 L is sure to attract with its airy and elegant lines. While the instrument panel is lean and positioned low, there is the long wrap-around arc under the windshield. Each seat offers a wide selection of options aside from offering a generous amount of space. The front seats for instance have ventilation and massage functions having not just five programs but also five intensities.

For the seats in the rear, they can be modified to be electrically adjustable though this is offered as an option under the A8 and that of the A8 L. Audi will also be making available for the A8 L the continuous center console covered in leather. There is the relaxation seat which comes with all possible luxury features and which will even have a first-class solution like the electrically adjustable footrest.

The different individual options are not limited to the A8 L but also includes the A8 family. Examples of such options are the panorama glass roof, cooler, and privacy windows. Folding tables, a convenience key that comes with power door closing assist, and automatic four-zone deluxe air conditioning are also available. Included is an ionizer which enhances air quality.

It is clear that when it comes to quality, Audi has never compromised. With the A8, the brand carefully chose all of the materials to be used and had precise work done on it. The hand-crafted quality can be seen on how lovely the details have been executed.

These include the gaps between the two-piece inlays that can barely be seen, the LED adjustable light, and all the way to the seat covers made of high-quality leather. One such material is Unicum leather, which in nutmeg brown, has that natural appearance while being breathable and soft.
