Audi to feature A3 sedan in 60-second 2014 Super Bowl ad

Audi of America will feature its new A3 sedan in an ad that will be shown during the broadcast of the 2014 Super Bowl. That will be the seventh year in a row that Audi has reserved spots for the Super Bowl, which is considered as the most watched advertising event in the United States.

Its recent Super Bowl spots had won accolades, just like its "Prom" ad last year, which showed a shy teenage boy driving to the prom in his father’s Audi and is inspired to be more daring. Audi is hoping that the new spot will build interest for the A3 that will be rolled out next spring. The A3 sedan will be Audi's lowest priced vehicle with a starting price of $30,795, including shipping.

The German luxury carmakers is targeting buyers who wanted technology-laden premium vehicles, as the A3 sedan features dedicated 4G LTE wireless connection and the MMI navigation and entertainment system.“

As one of the most highly anticipated viewing events of the year, the Super Bowl is the perfect venue to launch the all-new, technology-advanced Audi A3,” Loren Angelo, director of marketing at Audi of America, said in a statement.  He remarked that the A3 sedan will be "a game changing vehicle for Audi in the US.”

Audi has revealed few details about the planned 60-second Super Bowl spot, but said it is being created by Venables Bell & Partners, Audi’s advertising agency of record, and will be directed by Noam Murro.

Murro was also the director of this year’s “Moment of Truth,” ad, in which people rushed to warn a woman before she fills an Audi sedan with diesel, not realizing that the vehicle is run by the fuel. According to Audi, its Super Bowl spot will air during the first in-game commercial break after the start of the third quarter.

The Audi A3 Sedan has an energetic position on the road, and it is exact and highly dramatic in each detail. Its design is a cross between the iconic three-box concept and the coupe concept. The "tornado line" design component forms a distinguishable light-refracting edge that runs over the whole side. The overhangs are short. The four-door vehicle has a 2.64 meter (8.66 ft) elongated wheelbase and a total length of 4.46 meters (14.63 ft).

Over the side sills, the dynamic line emerges more keenly than on the other two A3 models. The side surfaces are all the more intensively curved, and the wheel arches are somewhat more flared. With a breadth of 1.80 meters (5.91 ft), the A3 Sedan is eleven mm (0.43 in) more extensive than the A3 Sportback; its stature (1.42 meters [4.66 ft]) is still nine mm (0.35 in) lower than that of the Sportback.

The four-door vehicle likewise communicates independent lines in the contour of its hood, in the bumpers, air intakes and its implementation of the singleframe grille. At the rear, the spoiler is incorporated in the trunk cover, and the lights highlight the vehicle’s horizontal lines with their wide and low cuts. LED innovation is available as an alternative. Audi will likewise be providing full-LED headlights right at the market debut - their ingenious innovation and exclusive appearance showcase the remarkable positioning of the Audi A3 Sedan.

The interior of the Audi A3 Sedan offers remarkable attention to detail. The lines and surfaces are neatly designed, and a long arc traverses the breadth of the windshield. The instrument boards with its curved front is thin, and the center console is somewhat turned towards the driver. The alternative color display of the driver information system (DIS) indicates pictures in highly detailed 3D graphics.
