Audi will advertise during Super Bowl XLVI

Article by Christian A., on November 23, 2011

Audi of America will be advertising at the upcoming Super Bowl, the fifth straight year that it will be seen at the game. Its ad for the Super Bowl XLVI will be created by San Francisco-based Venables Bell & Partners. Scott Keogh, chief marketing officer, Audi of America, said that the Super Bowl remains to be a platform to show the brand's creativity and voice.

He pointed out that Audi was the first car company in its class to place ads in the Super Bowl five years ago.

He believes that this year, it will be able to raise its brand awareness and showroom traffic after the game – similar to what has been achieved in the past. At Audi’s "Release the Hounds" spot last year, it became the first Super Bowl advertiser ever to tag an ad with a Twitter hashtag.

This spot, which featured the new Audi A8 flagship sedan, was of individuals attempting to escape from a luxury prison. Musician Kenny G also appeared as a comical cameo. Last year, Audi's Super Bowl ad used a soundtrack made by Cheap Trick. It also had the A3 TDI "Green Car of the Year" clean diesel vehicle.

Actor Jason Statham was featured in 2009 in a series of high-speed chase scenes involving luxury rivals. The 2008 was a parody of “The Godfather,” indicating that Audi was prepared to go up against the leading luxury leaders.

The Audi A3 and the Audi A3 Sportback are sporty compact vehicles. The high-end trims and equipment underline the exquisite style of these models. You can opt for a range of cutting-edge technologies such as the Audi magnetic ride suspension system, quattro permanent all-wheel drive, or the S tronic dual-clutch transmission. Plus you have powerful engines that are fuel efficient. In fact, the Audi A3 1.6 TDI has the best efficiency with the lowest carbon dioxide emissions of only 159.33 grams per mile.

The interior

The athletic elegance of the five-door A3 Sportback and the three-door Audi A3 is seen in the design. The xenon plus headlights are paired with LED daytime running lights. You also have a black single-frame grille and B-post trims. Meanwhile, chrome is how the lower air inlets are rendered, to mimic the strips on the door handles. Every version of the Audi A3 sports a diffuser insert that has an identifiable rear spoiler lip. Meanwhile, the tail lights have light guide rods to give it an unmistakable contour, while the three-door model has tinted tail lamps.

The interior of the Audi A3 is similarly elegant and sporty. The instruments have a gray face while the steering wheel is covered in leather and has a flat bottom. The air vents have black frames while you can opt for the navigation system that has a high-gloss bezel. The trim inserts on the center console look like aluminum, as does the window lifter buttons and mirror adjuster switch.

For the cars with manual transmission, you also have a shift indicator on the driver information system. The front-wheel-drive A3 has up to 1,080 liters of trunk storage capacity, while you get 1,100 liters of trunk space with the Audi A3 Sportback .
