The Bentley Continental Flying Spur V8 has made its Russian debut at the 2014 Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS). The Flying Spur V8 is powered by the carmaker’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 507 PS of output and 660 Nm of torque.
This dynamic powerplant spurs the Flying V8 to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 295 km/h. Range is not a problem with the Flying Spur V8 as it could travel over 800 kilometers in a full tank of fuel.
Just like the Bentley W12, the Flying Spur V8 also bears the distinctive fusion of sculpted, sleek, elegant coachwork as well as superb craftsmanship and advanced technology. According to Richard Leopold, head of Bentley Russia, the new Flying Spur V8 “opens the door” to the world’s best luxury sedan.
He remarked that with Bentley Russia’s dealer network expansion in Ekaterinburg and Krasnodar as well as recent launch of the Continental GT V8 S, they are confident that the Flying Spur V8 will build on the carmaker’s positive presence in the region.
Aside from the Continental Flying Spur V8, some of the marque’s latest luxury performance models like Continental GT V8 S and the Mulsanne flagship model will be displayed at Bentley’s stand at the MIAS. The Mulsanne, particularly, is considered as the ultimate expression of the brand’s hand-built high performance luxury.
This will mark the first time that these luxury performance models will be unveiled in Russia for the first time at the MIAS. These models are all inspired by key elements of Bentley’s elegant design language.
Likewise, Bentley only uses the finest materials, employ the best craftsmanship and pay intricate attention to detail in creating a vehicle that exudes a gorgeous Bentley environment embossed with modern luxury.
The British carmaker is giving the new Bentley Flying Spur a new design character, signaling the start of a new elegant styling direction. This is evident on its lower, wider appearance marked by sharp lines and subtly curvaceous surfaces. Its more dynamic profile and more assertive stance is made possible by its precise feature lines, a muscular rear haunch, deeply sculpted panels and a lower roof line.
Meanwhile, the front fenders of the new Bentley Flying Spur comes with stunning new wing vents sporting an elegant Bentley "B" motif. Starting from this point, another feature line gives birth to a defined edge flowing from the front wheel to the rear bumper of the new Flying Spur.
Up front, the new Bentley Flying Spur features a pair of jewel-like headlamps – the outer lamps being the larger of the pair -- all employing LED technology, flanking a more upright chrome grille. Below this front grille is a full-width lower intake sans no vertical divisions, but features a chromed horizontal accent.
On the rear, the new Bentley Flying Spur comes with a longer and lower boot lid that gives the side profile a more swept appearance. The rear end also features horizontal single ellipse LED tail lamps as well as a reinterpreted version of the Bentley "Horse Shoe" feature line flowing the full width of the Flying Spur while enclosing a concave section.
